Dipping passenger mirror for reversing?

Featured Replies

Just how do I make the passenger door mirror dip down for reversing? I thought I'd switched it on (computer says so) but I get squat-diddly action on selecting reverse.

You need to set the switch on your door to 'L', then it will dip when you select reverse.

though I find it's hit and miss whether or not it actually moves. I have had mine set since I got it and it seems to work on a whim.

Mirror knob is set on L - still no movement. Ackshurly, I don't know why I'm bothered - I never used the feature on a previous car so equipped. I just don't like things not working. Especially when it's new. Grrr.

Perhaps it hasn't been set yet, Charles? Ignition on, mirror switch to "L," select reverse gear, now adjust amount of tilt down required. Disengage reverse - job done. Works OK on mine. :)

You need to set the position where you want it to dip to.

First off, set the mirror to where you want it for normal driving.

Put the mirror button to 0.

Make sure the car is in neutral.

Press memory for 1 second

Hold the memory number that you want to store for 3 seconds.

The dash will 'bong' to tell you the position is stored.

Now,

engage reverse gear,

select L on the mirror switch

adjust the mirror for reversing .

press memory for 1 second

press the same memory number as before until you here the bong.

Now you have stored 2 positions for the mirror. One for normal driving one for reverse.

As has been said, the reverse position will only activate if the switch is left on L.

The mirror returns to the normal position after you drive away over about 10mph.

Tip. If you hold the lock button on your key , the mirrors fold in.

Aha! How am I supposed know that without RTFM? Well, I did RTFM but didn't spot that! :o

Got to admit, that this is really neat, tried it out tonight, but I am now at the conclusion that i'll never master all of the gizmo's in the car :)
