FFS. There's no labour or eu conspiracy going on. YOU parked on double yellows, got ticketed (with the warden taking pics as evidence) and seem to want to blame everyone but yourself.

Write to the Daily Moan, I'm sure it'll make front page news

Sorry ClunkClick, you have been caught, take it on the chin and pay up.

We all make mistakes, but we need to accept them and move on. If the yellow lines were 20 yrs old and hardly noticable or had new tar over them etc, then Im sure you would be excused from making that mistake.

You did one of two things when you parked there...

1. Saw the double yellows and chose to ignore them. Cant really blame anyone can you?

or

2. Didnt see them at all. In that case then you need to go out and buy a copy of the Highway Code and refresh yourself with all the other signage and markings on our roads.

Near where I used to live, there was a set of 8 or 9 shops. Out side on one side were diagnal parking bays. The other side was double yellows. As people couldnt be bothered to drive into the diagnal bays and cause trauma reversing out (cos they cant drive) or better still reverse in/drive out they used to park on the double yellows. This made it even worse for those that did use the bays. So, council built a small car park on what was open land that kids used. What happens now? Car park pretty empty and people STILL park on the double yellows COS THEY ARE TOO ******** IDLE to walk that extra 5 yards to the car park.

This is what this country is coming too with its dependance on vehicles. Rant over, pay the ticket, learn from your mistake.

So not only did you not see the yellow lines, park with the ar5e end of your car sticking out but you also forget to display your blue badge.

Loading and unloading on double yellows is permitted at all times unless stated otherwise by use of a sign. i.e. 'no loading / unloading 8am - 10am' etc
