Vrs Limited Edition Queries

Featured Replies

I have recently aquired the new Limited Edition Vrs and have noticed a few thing son it and wondered if any one else had noted the same things.

1. No lumber support adjustment on drivers seat yet is on passengers seat.

2. When turning on the radio 1st thing in a morning the screen is very dull where you almost can't see whats on the screen until about 15 mins into journey and then brightens up to normal.

3. Have already lost 2 no i's off Limited Edition badge and M & E are now peeling off, seems to be made out of the same material as my lads football stickers!

4. When passenger seated in the passenger seat and seat belt not done up whilst moving off, isn't there supposed to be a warning light on the dash?

Just wondered if any one else was having same issue or had noticed anything else worth mentioning?

Probably just me being over fussy:rolleyes:

1. I have an elegance that has lumbar support on both sides, cant see why the passenger side has it only, maybe just the way the LE or any vRS is specced?

2. I have the same thing, sometimes the head unit LCD is dim (like a watch with a low battery) and then it gets better

3. That's bad, get your dealer to rectify this

4. Normal, the Octavia won't do a seatbelt warning for the passenger side only for the driver.

Are you sure about point 4 mate, I am certain my 06 plate mk2 vRS used to chime if the passenger had no seatbelt on and display the warning. It can be disabled with Vag-Com

The LCD display on the Roomster's dance head unit can be a bit dim until it warms up, I am guessing there may be a little moisture messing with it's mojo.

The seat's should be sorted out by the dealer, the seat's are possibly removed and recovered in leather when the car arrives in uk, so maybe you got some bad seat covers, but it's not acceptable on a new car.

On the Lumbar support, again my 06 plate vRS had lumbar support, cable operated, but, and this is a BIG BIG but ..... is it possible that in the process of having the seat's recovered that the lumbar knob was not trimmed / refitted? if you feel around the seat where it should be is there a hole / indentation? Can you feel a thick cable in the back of the seat?

Cheers

PS Welcome to Brisky :)

Tony,

Skodayouth is right. There is no warning on the vRS for a passenger. Unless it was taken off as my 07 plate doesnt have it, never has had it and has no option that i can find in VCDS to turn on/off. Odd really as my Fiancee's Bog Standard VW Golf on a 06 plate has the warning for both sides

To the OP

Point 1. My 07 plate vRS has the wheel for lumbar support on drivers side however when i turn it it doesnt seem to do anything and never has. Can't comment on passenger seat as i find it awkward to drive the car from that position so stick to drivers side :D

Point 2. My RNS510 does that (although not for that length of time usually a couple of mins) if it bugs you i'm sure you can disable auto brightness and just set the level you want yourself. It then stays that way all the time iirc

Go to your dealer to get point 3 rectified as that shouldn't be happening

Your cable is disconnected then mate, it happened on both of my mk2's the lumbar support is connected by a cable and this can get disconnected from the knob. Both my vRS and the Slug had this happen, the slug suffered from it more though and it went in 3 times to have the cable reconected.

Must be my age then ref the seatbelt chime, the vRoomster has a passenger sensor though, and I was certain my octy had it, mine was an early 06 plate though.

Can i fix that myself or is it too complicated to sort out?

My 07 vRS is exactly the same on both points.

lumbar support on my 56 vRS works ok, but never had passenger seat belt chimes.

Can i fix that myself or is it too complicated to sort out?

Cheers

Carl:thumbup:

this may explain why i can't feel the effects of my lumbar support too :D

... where does the cable normally come loose? also interested if i can fix it myself :)

After reading this i thought ill have a look at the points.

looking at the lumber support mine works fine, ive also noticed the passenger belt does'nt ping.

looked at the LE badge, and i see what you mean it does look like it could peel of after a good couple of washes. If i does then ill just paint it in red.

As for the stereo, i just use that marker to tell me the car is cold and not to give it the beans

I checked the passenger side lumbar knob too. Nowt, does nothing.

Anyone got one that works? Is it noticeable?

My lumbar adjustment has never worked, although I find the seat ok in its current setting.

i have to say that the change is very little, i had to turn it alot just to feel a difference

Radio issue sounds odd, mine doesn't do this so a call to the dealer sounds in order. Others have mentioned the lumbar issue, but the dealer should fix, not tested the passenger seatbelt bong yet, which leaves the badge - yes, you're right, never noticed, but the lettering is indeed cheap stick on stuff and easily dislodged with a polish! Seems odd given the craftsmenship of the leather seats that a more duable chrome or similar badging couldn't haave been sought!!!

Me too, someone must know how it can be fixed.

My works mondeo's LCD takes a while to warm up on a cold day (havent fitted a columbus to the octy.... yet). Normal for a colour LCD. Should wake quicker if on full brightness. Mine takes an age if i adjust the brightness lower than full.

The lack of lumbar could simply be an error when the seats were re-skinned and the dial's been left off.

The dealer should be able to sort the other issues, including turning back on the passenger seatbelt warning on startup.

Can i fix that myself or is it too complicated to sort out?

Cheers

Do the seat covers unzip at the back? ... I can't remember on a vRS? the cable came detatched from the knob on mine (vRS and the slug), I will try and dig the diagram out from ETKA a bit later

1. No lumber support adjustment on drivers seat yet is on passengers seat.

I would have said that they put the seats on the wrong side when they swapped the seats over but then all the controls would be on the wrong side too.

Could it be that the seats are designed to be fitted to a LHD car.

Hi NelSpeed,

I am up to 800 Miles in my LE - shall be posting a review soon...

1. No lumber support adjustment on drivers seat yet is on passengers seat.

++ I have, so something definatly up there - dealer should sort that.

2. When turning on the radio 1st thing in a morning ...

++ I have not noticed, to be honest... But will check, I am very happy with the radio and audio quality in mine so far

3. Have already lost 2 no i's off Limited Edition badge ....

++ Mine started peeling before I was even off the forcourt, lost a fair few letter 3 weeks later - Dealer ordered me in a new badge and I replaced - so far so good. I think a load of them had wonky stamping on the print run... Poor show though.

4. When passenger seated in the passenger seat and seat belt not done up ...

++ I will check this for you too, but I doubt they would have gone to the trouble of putting weight sensors in the passenger side...

How is she otherwise ?

my 58 plate vRS CR TDi

- Does have warnings for both the passenger and driver seatbelt.

The passenger one is a yellow light on the dash, but no chime. The driver one is a red light on the dash and does elicit a chime to warn you.

- No radio screen issues on my Stream MP3 HU

- I do have a lumbar support (standard 3 colour half leather vRS seats) and I beleive it works but its not a massive range of support.

Hi,

Had my LE VRS a couple of weeks now, drivers seat definately has lumbar and it seems to work - as does the passenger seat.

There doesn't appear to be a warning of any type for the passenger seat belt.

My radio display seems to be okay - although i feel that the viewing angle is better from the passenger seat - has anyone else noticed this ?

My limited edition badge also suffered the same peeling issues - before it left the dealer - so they peeled the remaining letters off and have ordered a new one from Skoda.

Other than that no issues so far and i absolutely love the car,

Cheers

Anyone got one that works? Is it noticeable?

Yep, and Yep

Passenger one seems to work too

Just done over 2000 miles now and got to say despite the little queries mentioned it's been great so far.

Wheels can be a pain to clean but weel worth it once there done, takes me longer to clean wheels than the rest of the car:confused:

Thanks for all the comments, it looks like a trip down to the dealer to interrogate them about the odd bits and pieces.

Did anyone get any Vrs enscribed mats with their LE's as i was told when i ordered mine that i would get Vrs mats, but got to say i was a little disappointed when i got black mats with grey piping:irked:
