nurburgring this weekend+ringcard

Featured Replies

Im thinking of nipping to the ring this weekend, and checked the dates and all was ok, but i see you now have a ring card that you load up with laps.

It reckons you can order it and top it up on the website but I cant find the page that you do it from only the info on the uses of the card.

anyone used it yet

anyone have any idea what the 2009 lap cost is now.

21EUR I think per lap. Not sure on the discount for block booking.

When is it you're going? There's a load off the S2 forum going... if it wasn't for my newborn son I'd be going myself!

i was only looking at doing around 4-8 laps, nice and steady. relearn the track practise the lines again.

the main reason though is i am having alot of suspension work done in may. so would love to to do a comparison in may for before and after

Guys this new RingCard to load your laps onto is way better than the old system. Now you get a credit card That they swipe and load laps onto and you swipe to get through the barriers.

you can top it up via the internet or at the counter there.

was not happy today though when the track was shut down between 2 and 4:30 for a motorbike convention to drive it. Never before have i seen so many bikes in one area. Would have been nice to say it on theyre web page instead of the normal touristenfahrt

Only two crashes today although only minor ones, and just one oil spill.

Studying their site, but cant see where to purchase the card. Just says visit Nürburgring  -  home to purchase the card. :s

Had the same problem. Mentioned this to them and they said they were sorting it.

wouldnt worry just get one on the day at the ticket booth next to the barriers

I have 2 Qs: 1.How much is a run on the ring?

2.How many passengers allowed?

Many thanks whoever answers.:)

IIRC 24euro for one lap, 75 euro for 4 laps, 135-145 for 8 laps. Theyare not exact but pretty close. I have a memory like a sieve.

as for passengers as many as your car can legally fit. you pay for the Car to go round. essentially all it is a toll road wth no speed limit. You wont even get your licence checked. but should you crash it is a public road so you'll be liable to the damage as well as charges from the german police

Hope this Sunday won`t be tooooo busy....

Hope this Sunday won`t be tooooo busy....

Dont get your hopes up, its tradditionally the bussiest day of the year. There will be big queues to get on/off the track, a couple of years ago it took longer to get off the track than the time it took to do a full lap.

I will be there, but not lapping in my car.

i went sunday and the track was fine everytime i went on. The only issue we had was the track closing for 3 hours during the day for the bike convention to drive round the track. After that it reopened as normal. I never waited more than 5 minutes to get in or out

is there a meet there this sunday then.

darrenvrs dont know if you have been there before but my hint would be too make sure you take your car for a slow drive around the local roads to cool down after a lap and also dont use your handbrake after a lap just park her up and leave in gear.

Easter sunday is the first main weekend where cars from all over europe decend on the ring. The overflow carpark will be full, cars will be parked all along the main road outside the ring and getting in/out of the viewing areas will be very difficult. 2 years ago the queue to get off the track started just after the last gantry all along the straight.

I agree about not using the handbarke, using it in the carpark could have undesired results.

No meet, maybe another time :D If it`s going to be that busy I might still drive there and see how it is and decide on the spot. Will try to be early though. Will let you know afterwards. BUT if anybody is going pls let me know so i can keep an eye out.

I'll be around the ring today, The excellent weather forcast is sure to make it even busier though. Forcast for today at Adenau is Sunny and 23c, which will bring everyone out. Not sure where I'll be though, really depends on how busy the viewing areas are, and how close I can get with the car. I am with my parents, and my dad is quiet weak and will struggle if the inclines are to steep. Keep an eye out for a Beige UK 55 reg octy2 estate with ring sticker and spanish bull on the back.

Briskodian ?
