Octy vRS Cruise Control Problem

Featured Replies

Ok guys...bit of a strange one. I've noticed lately that when I engage the cruise control then let off the throttle, sometimes the speed will drop by a few MPH before coming back upto the level that I set it. It doesn't always do it. Is it just a quirk or a problem?

Cheers

Don't take this the wrong way Ventmore but are you totally paranoid or are they really out to get you?

It will do that as the electronic throttle takes over, perfectly normal.

My last car was a 1.3 micra, but to date I've had:

Mk2 fiesta 1.0

Mk3 fiesta 1.4

Peugeot(spelling) 306 dTurbo

Mk2 Golf GTI

Fiesta RS Turbo

205 TD

And the micra

Why do you ask?

Well just that I would guess that you've realised that the RS is probably the best car you've ever had. (GTi and RS Turbo notwithstanding :D ) Just enjoy the car that's all

I certainly do enjoy the car, and it is the best one I've ever had. However, I think that they may actually be out to get me. It's going in next week as the rear washer is leaking into the boot. Ah well...just teething troubles :)

Never had any real problem with speed setting especially if cruise speed is maintained then cruise button selected. The only time I have the experience you are talking about is if on rapid decelaration say by throtle lift off at 70 and when the speedo reaches 50 the button is pressed the speed may drop to 47 ish then rised to 50. However I dont see it as a problem as the idea really is to maintain the speed you want to maintain then hit the cruise button.

Cheers John. I always maintain the speed first then press it, I never press it during acceleration/deceleration.
