Fabia vRS remap

Featured Replies

hi there i am after a remap on my fabia vrs can anyone help me are celtic tuning or ecu evolution any good as they are fairly local to me?

some swear by celtic, never used either personally.

heard good things about celtic, they come to your house, most fabs theyve done have had harsh maps but im sure they can vary them

You in Scotland buddy?

Celtic are known for having big torque spikes in the fabia VRS generic map. As for custom, I don't know.

I thought about Celtic but decided on Angel Tuning

no i am in gloucester.

P-torque come highly recommended. Nice smooth power and torque curve.not headline figures but very drivable. All for £265 with before and after dyno runs!!!

They are only about 60mins from Gloucester

just out of interest, would there be a big diference in straight line speed between a p-torque map and say a celtic map as one isnt as harsh as the other, or would the balance and driveability of the p-torque map make it keep up?

anyone had a play with two fabs with different maps?

I've driven lots of PD130s with remaps and you need smooth and progressive not spikey. P-torque come recommended from me, I used Will a good 5 years ago and have always been happy to recommend him.

I had my P-torque remap a couple of days ago now. My Fabia Vrs with PD160 intake and piper cross filter made 167 bhp and 295lbs of torque.

The impressive thing is the way the power is delivered. Its progressive and drive just like a petrol car now. Peak torque is at 2750 RPM and drops off very slowly.

Not headline figures, but a very sensible map that is fantastic to drive had has no sikes anywhere. An excellent service for an excellent price.

£265 with before ad after dynos? That seems very good value and everyone with there map seems to be happy! May have to consider this myself at some point!

a vote for angel here, more than 70k with the map on, and no problems :)

P Torque for me.

Without being biased, the 'safest' remaps, i.e. the ones with the least reported problem appear to be:

Angel

P-Torque

Superchips (they warranty related parts)

Custom Code

Revo are a well respected tuning outfit IF your clutch can take it and a standard one seldom will. A search will reveal that Celtic remaps have has issues with blowing turbos.

I chose Angel because i was unable to find any evidence of a negative experience, and their nearest tuning centre was only 20 miles away.

Until you get it Dyno'd Dave;)

Celtic tune are very well respected on the Hinda Civic forum (2.2 from 138 to 190 BHP!!)

markyvrs ecu evolution is in your neck of the woods do you know much about them/there remaps?

They are based in Newport, which is just down the road from me.

Never heard of them though. They seem pretty cheap, but dont be tempted by this. Spend a bit extra on one that people can testify as being reliable and of good quality.

A remap with Angel is around £300.00. This is good value and the map is excellent. Dyno'd at 173bhp/280lb
