Scratched windows

Featured Replies

Just after I got my car, a year ago now, I noticed that the winscreen and front side windows all had scratch marks on them. Best way to describe it is that when the car has been washed, there has been a small stone in the wash cloth/sponge, so there are noticable swirl marks on the windows. Wish I had seen it during the test drive, as I'd have got the garage to sort out the problem.

I've tried taking pics but the scratches don't show up very well on pics. Anyone any idea what I can do/use to get rid of the scratches ?

A quick looko on the net, and maybe I need one of these GlassPolish Shop

any one used anything similar? Or got any other suggestions?

Thanks

If these are reasonably light scratches as you describe, you can polish them out with elbow grease. I know I have used aluminium oxide powder in the past on windscreen wiper marks in the past to good effect.

I've heard that toothpaste is quite good...

Autoglym Glass Polish and a bit of effort

I've tried t-cut glass polish (in a blue bottle) and it did next to nothing.

I've had good results with the Autoglym stuff...
