Hello everyone! I'm looking at buying a brand new Fabia vRS after having a test drive - just love that feel of the seat pushing in your back :) - and wondered which options people recommended....? Oh, and then there's the choice of colour.... have seen a black one in the flesh and it looked great, but I also like the red ones....

Any opinions?

Any opinions?
Loads, but I will leave others to have their say. In the meantime welcome to Briskoda. :D

BTW, aren't you a black-Fabia-owning Briskoda member already?

Welcome to Briskoda!!!!

You have chosen a good car, regardless of which colour you opt for. Silver & Red are easiest to keep clean, black is a nightmare to keep clean, but in my opinion is the best looking colour on the car.... yellow is for others more "extrovert" minded people than I.

Whichever colour, you can rest assured you have bought a great motor!!! Enjoy!

Welcome Poshlady. Nice to have some osh after ink  No doubt there will be loads of replies :D

I like black - it does look stunning when nicely polished, but never stays clean for very long :(

I purchased mine with cruise control as it's very useful on long journeys. It can be retro-fitted though - preferably by a forum member who does this professionally ;)

Xenons are nice if you do lots of night driving.

Sunroof is good to keep cool in the summer (especially if car is black!)

Apart from that, you can also get ESP, heated seats, passenger airbag deactivation switch, passenger height-adjustable seat.....

And welcome  with anticipated congratulations on buying an excellent lil' motor

Or is it Jen? If so :wavey:

If not, forget your id Chris?

Lol - is not Jen, but yes, is my other half :D She doesn't listen to my opinions about cars

Welcome Poshlady,

if I had the choice, I would take it in red or silver. If choosen in black,

your local car wash can become a good friend in the future.

Surely black is a very fine colour and it ca match to nearly every thing

you wear :D

But whatever, good to hear that more ladies choose their car for the acceleration and not only for the color...

Anyway, you made a good choice, taking that car..

Have lots of fun with it

:D Hi Poshlady, welcome. I'm a bit of a newbie here as well but I'm sure you'll be getting loads of other welcome messages from the more established members of Briskoda. From what I've seen they're all a bit mad  but in a nice sort of way.

Can't decide on the colour eh! Well if you like washing cars (or have a man/woman/slave or other person to do it for you) buy a black one, they look the biz when they're clean but show the dirt about 30 seconds after washing it. If you hate washing cars buy a silver one. They don't show the dirt so much. Red is somewhere in the middle but still looks pretty good when clean.

Have fun choosing :rainbow:

Thanks for all the help! Chris is useless when it comes to cars  so I thought I'd join up....

Also looking at the Mini-One D and the new Micra diesel but they're a bit slower and not as well specced. Anyone driven either of these as a comparison? Will be aiming to get test drives next week so I can compare them properly....

Compare, what ever ....

I am nearly sure you will take the skoda :D

Getting a comparable good car for much less money ... means to steal one

welcome to the darkside!

If you go for black then get a decent hard wax coating on it. Swissol if you can afford it! I can`t :(

I would field the "pigtail" question, but I understand you have already been noosed by some one on the site!

PoshLady, welcome.

Of the 3 you list, I'd get the Fabia. Why?

1. It has a better spec than the mini and comparable to the Micra

2. It is easily the quickest of the 3

3. It has more space than the Micra and the boot on the mini is pitiful

4. It is the most feminine of the 3 :D

As for colour, I'd go for red, probably the easiest to keep clean.

HTH

My sister has a Mini One D, good looking car, nowhere near as quick a Fabia vRS and not as practical either, very small boot. Good car though.

Had a Micra (petrol) as a courtesy car when my Octy was in for service. Don't buy one it was C**P. :thumbdwn: Not only is it one of the ugliest cars on the road, but bits of trim kept falling off in my hand. Just seemed very cheap and nasty to me.

GET THE FURBY

Thanks for all the help! Chris is useless when it comes to cars  so I thought I'd join up....

Welcome to Briskoda.

Black is a pain to keep clean. But when clean

Agree with what Jon say except for the feminine comment :finger:

Welcome to Briskoda.

I think you'll find that yellow is the best colour. :D

i think i'll keep quiet on this one :D

welcome btw :)

cheery pip

Jonno
