Intelligent Indicators!

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever asked their dealer to make these changes? If so, how much do they charge? If it's not much, it's not really worth the cost of getting VAG-COM or the petrol in travelling to someone who has it.

I quite like the idea of the anti-hijacking thing as I lock my doors when I'm driving in town anyway.

Different models must have different features. One press of the unlock button unlocks all the doors and the boot on my Fabia. Two presses of the lock button locks the doors but in such a way that they can be unlocked from inside. You can tell this has been done because the LED on the drivers door doesn't flash.

So lets sort a date out for a meet?

Sounds like somewhere in the South might be in order?

Going to dealer tomorrow to pick up my luggage net for the boot so will enquire about the necessaries then if I remember!

Mine is set up to unlock just the driver's door by pressing unlock once and all the doors by pressing unlock twice. As it's mostly only me in it, I like this and I can use the boot-release on the key fob to open the boot :) Didn't know you could disable the deadlocks (and alarm?) by pressing lock twice. Will have to try that later........ :D

The dealer did all the mods for free on my wife's Fabia when she bought it. A VW dealer did all the mods on my 2 year old Passat but charged

My 53 Furby ECu does not have the 3 wipe function in it.

Does anyone know the code for the rear Wiper. ?

The rear wiper should alreay be programmed, it has been in any other Fabia I've ever been in, but I'm sure someone wil find the code of it.

Some Fabias have the 3 blinks system in it. I'm surprized a 53 plate didn't have it but it depends on built time I suppose rather then registration plates.

The rear wiper isn't programmable. It does one wipe only when reverse is selected with the front wipers on.

Can the 3-blink indicator thing be enabled on the (old) octavia? I have an 04 elegance.

As far as I am aware it requires you to have a new ECU. I don't think the old Octavias will have it. I don't think it can be enabled- you either have it or you don't I'm afraid as I'm sure this was Skoda UK's response on the matter.

OOOPS

Did a test yesterday, & found i DO have the single sweep, front wiper on then in reverse.

:)

These little finds are like playing pass the parcel and finding a pressy under each wrapper. - I wounder how many more layers there are.

Colin, I had worked that out, when tring to find out if my ECU could be programmed , specially as Ivan bought his about 6 weeks after mine, & his had the updated ECU in. :irked: On the 04 plate.

Another layer of wrapping paper has been torn off...

whilst cleaning my car today I had the stereo on with no key in ignition, as I was out there caring for the vRS for a while the stereo turned off! Think this is a battery saver as I turned the key and it started first time!!

:D

Surely there can't be many more layers of paper to be shed?!

The radio has an auto power of after 30 mins to save the battery. It also switches off when you remove the key after driving with it on.

Only if you set it to that Rooboy. You can set it to remain on after ignition is switched off, by putting the IGN bit in the radio options to yes.

Just figured out that if you press your indicator a little bit then it flashes three times and then turns off!

Does anyone know of any other secret style gizmo's that our cars might have?!

When the engine is off the indicator switch can be used to active left/right parking lights.

Wow, this is an old thread! lol!

Quite interesting htough....do we have a lift up anywhere of what VAGCOM can actually do? It has always fascinated me! (sad I know) but I'd like to know what can be done!

I have always meant to try the parking lights cos I was told that audi's do that with the indicators!

Vauxhalls in the 80's used to do this :P They also had intelligent indicators ... push up right signal flashes, push down left signal flashes :P

There's a list of VAG-COM codes in the guide section and I also believe on Stu's site Fabia-vrs.com - Home Page

Chris

cool, cheers christyfer!! :D

My local dealer will charge

Does anyone have a full list of all the funky things that can be changed with VAG com? Like the anti hijack etc.

Would be nice to know what we can change. I can ask a mate of mine who has VAG-COM to then do the honors. :)

EDIT: Doh! Just seen Chris's post.... Nice one!
