Anyone got a Henry?

Featured Replies

A Numatic Henry that is...

Are they any good? They're very cheap in comparison with the likes of dyson etc and have been around long enough.

Anyone used one?

Check out what the trade (i.e mobile/hotel cleaners ) buy /use - mostly it's a Henry ,sometimes one of the others -wife swears by hers.Even simple enough for us to use - I first used them in offices after a comms install ,and they got rid of everything .Only niggle about the older ones - (and it's been fixed) -no way of keeping cable tidy.:thumbup:-

I've used them in similar circumstances. They stand up to the abuse well and seem to last well and work pretty well too. My current employer has a small hotel-type business attached, and the housekeeping staff use them. They seem standard-issue.

AFAIK- from Mrs's background - it's the choice of the professional cleaner ( standard issue in one very large international hotel chain ) - says a lot .Light and easy to use ,basically just does the job ,and at the price - if it stands up to pro work -just think how long it'll last at home .

We did get a replacement for her ancient Jap thing -well known UK make - it ended back in the shop few days later ,overheating to be replaced with Henry .

I have had a Henry for about 6 years, still sucks like a good un and the smiley face makes you feel much better about yourself.

There are loads of different models depending on what you are after Numatic International Ltd. - Homecare Range

Made the mistake of showing SWMBO this one

Still, if I buy it she is more than welcome to use it every day if she likes

NA - Charles /George for plumbers (they're wet/dry machines :eek::eek:)

We always use them at work - seem ok

Just thought on - anyone guess why a Henry is not a wet /dry machine -

"there's a hole ..............."

you get different henry's though, i have just bought one but i bought the super turbo industrial rated one with two different motor speeds as its what we get at work :)

henry's are awesome, they'll outlive any other hoover by miles!!

don't forget the fact that you can't buy a dyson on account of the chap being a ****

Any vacuum that smiles at you as you clean has got to be a winner

The number of cleaners I have watched slamming them into door frames, must be a top notch product.

On the other hand, every Dyson me and my family have had has fallen to bits within a few years

I have a blue one wet/dry (is that George?) and I am very impressed with it:D

personally at home we have a dyson, but when we have been on holiday at centre parcs this (henrys) is what is in every villa and to be truthful they not bad little vacuum cleaners.

We've got one at work. Great little machines, but they use bags, so not wet/dry.

We use the 'Charles' wet/dry version at work. Great vacuum cleaner. To use wet you remove the bag. Charles is about £120.

They use Henry at work and the girls in the canteen have a Hetty!!

My cleaning staff use them and have been doing so for years. They seem to last forever, are easy to fix and cheap to buy. The only problem I see with them is split cables and that's not the Henrys' fault. The cleaners do give them a hard time.

I've yet to see one with a burnt out motor and bear in mind some of ours are 6 years old and used hard every day:eek:

There's no reason not to have one IMHO.

No cable issues with ours; the suction tube's split at both ends, but nothing we can't fix with some duct tape.

Oh yeah, I forgot that little problem and yes duct tape does the job well:rofl: I have even resorted to removing the collar and triming back the split hose. Not easy getting those collars off though. New hoses are cheap and easy to find as well.

Something I have noticed though is that the hoses on the really old Henrys don't split like that:confused: Cheaper plastic in the newer ones maybe?

Fair play to ours; it's at least 15.

i think most modern plastics are fairly rubbish as i think there was some change in the law about not using something in plastic that was harmful to the environment, as a result all new plastic surface boxes for sockets/switches are rubbish and crack really easily!!

I bought one just the other week ready for when me and the girlfriend move into our new house (still waiting for a completion date) They were just £75 quid in Homebase over the bank holiday....... I've heard nothing but good things about them, so for the price i thought it can't do any harm to try em.....
