VRS Front Lower Strut Brace

Featured Replies

Is anyone running the OMP Front Lower Strut Brace for the SEAT IBIZA?

If not does anyone know if it'll fit a VRS?

Welcome to Strutbracer, Ace site for braces and stuff

I was speaking to a guy who was running one on his Ibiza TDi at a track day at Silverstone and he reckoned it was a worthwhile mod. He reckoned at high speed cornering on track the car felt a lot tighter...

Any thoughts / comments?

Cheers,

Neil

I would like one - It has to be the next modification I make. :D

Id say it would. As it fits the 1.9TDi Ibiza.

If it does, Id be up for a Group Buy.

£39.71 inc VAT is a bargin anyway, but its worth a shot. Ill email them.

Didn't Josh have one ages ago and it hangs stupidly low???

I asked about this before and everyone thought I meant a front anti-roll bar lol

Just had a lot under the car and it looks like you have to remove the undertray to run it and yes it will hang down a bit. Hmmm...

i'd be in for a group buy,

Ive got an email back from said company, and there not sure if the bar will fit or not.

They said to buy one, and try it. Then buy the group buy if it fits.

I havent got cash to splash at the mo, so im afraid its down to someone else to buy the 1st one.

I am running a eilbach lower front strut brace, I can't say how much difference it makes as I fitted coilovers and a seat strut brace at the same time. The car does feel tight on turn in though.

I've just ordered one - will let you know how I get on with it.

Cheers Phil, will be interesting to see.

I use to run a Weicher years back. Wasnt fully desighned to the PD130 as the sump use to hit it. But after a while it resharped the alloy :)

Update - TODAY i recieved the strut brace!! I forgot i'd even ordered it, it's been that long!! lol.

Will get it fitted tomorrow hopefully.

Look forward to an update... with piccies if possible!

Quick update - it fits. But due to it's location I don't think you'd be able to run the OEM sump guard without some creative cutting.

Initial thoughts are - it seems to turn it better. The front end seems to feel a bit tigher than before but it might be a bit of a placebo effect due to the fact that i'm paying more attention.

I did take a few pic's with my phone - will post them up later once i've found the lead!!

Indeed looks like it does the job but you have to remove the under-tray to run it? mmm corrosion... (?) :( also worse under car aerodynamics..

Sorry to brigng this back from the dead, but do you need to cut the undertray to run this?

Thats what my strut brace looks like haha

I can confirm the car handles really well with the lower brace fitted along with up brace and whiteline ARB

I have half an undertray on the Fabia, but being as they subframe catches fairly regular I dont fancy the brace bars chances..lol

Anyone know where to get one of these?
