Our Elegance 170CR had its first service today. 10,200 miles on the clock. The good news was we were only charged £100. The bad news was that the service revealed that the inner edge of both front tyres was very badly worn. To the point where we have to order two replacements immediately. This is not good. Interestingly, the dealer said without even being asked that a) They have seen another New Superb like mine with exactly the same problem. They are going to report this as a warranty issue to Skoda UK and would let me know. Car goes back two weeks tomorrow for a routine Valet anyway. Subject to confirmation from Skoda UK, They're going to replace the tyres, do a full geometry check and any remedial action - so we might be without the car for a couple of days. Anyone else seen this. It might be worth people checking their cars. The problem is only visible if you park the car with the wheels turned to lock. A.

My first service is due at 20-30,000 miles and in April 2011 according to the service book???

Just had my first service picked it up in Jan now at 16500 on clock had some uneven wear on rears but may have been caused by slow puncture. 4 new tyres all round OUCH !!!!!

Other than that just one big smile on my face driven last weekend to south west france awesome brilliant drive.

My Sup 1 is heavy on tyres, 10k front and 20k rear, it's almost all town work though.

Sounds like excess negative camber or front tracking is out. If it's both sides and wearing inner edges then it pretty much has to be incorrect setup from new.

I had the same, had to replace the fronts at 16,500 as they were down to the tread wear indicators and the guy at the tyre company showed me the wear on the inside edges. Coincidentally the car was going into the dealer the next day so I've got them to check with Skoda about this. Will post the reply when I get it.

Car is going in on Friday for its normally quarterly free valet

+ 2 new front tyres

+ Skoda have asked for a complete wheel + steering geometry to be done - and then send them the results. I've also asked for a copy of the results and the've agreed.

Skoda have also promised to confirm the tyre pressures.
