Maidstone Meet June 2009

Why not keep it when you actually own it? :P

At that point it'll be worth about 50p, have 150,000 on the clock and will probably look a mess... so might as well bin it off and get something else :)

You can come over and buy it off of me

for 50p? no problem :) Does that include delivery to Ireland?

Just wondered if any of you guys have ever used Whitehill of Meopham, for any repairs or servicing..........

Cheers Matt........

Are they still going? I think I am going to use Impossible from now on as I was well pleased with the belt job they did. There is also a VAG specialist tucked behind the Shell garage ( that of card cloning notoriety) on Bluebell Hill which is in the book. I was going to use him but he said a belt change at 4 years and 60K was not necessary and didn't like the sound of that.

Yea there still open, selling used cars only now. I suppose this happened when motorline opened at Dartford selling Skoda....?

But from looking at there stock on there website i must say they seem to prepare there cars well, and they told me they still under take work if you have a skoda warranty............:)

Think your find they are behind the BP garage on the way into Maidstone further down the hill.

Whitehill in Meopham are still going and are quite good.

But also is Mike down at Impossible Performance in Canterbury.

Anyway back on topic before mr moderator Steve gets upset :D

Hi guys, what goes down at these meets?

Whitehill's still there, I haven't used them myself as I've only ever had work done by Caffyns at Tonbridge or my local garage in Kemsing.

Standley - we meet up at the White Rabbit pub and sit inside and have a meal and a few drinks. It's not really a standing-around-in-the-car-park-kicking-tyres sort of meet, but some of us do stick around at the end for a bit of that!

Hi everyone, we're new to Briskoda but we might get chance to pop along on the 9th to say hello. Would be interested to know, Is it ok for kids to come along? (age 8)What goes on at the meetings? Activities of any sort / or just a drink and chat? Either way is fine, just interested to know.Where in the pub do you meet / how will we know the other Skodians? What sort of numbers do you usually expect?Looking forward to saying hello in person but will let you know for sure..Mike and Sheelagh

Hi Mike

If the weather is good(:rofl::rofl:) we sit outside .If it is a usual meet walk in and turn left ,we are usually in the furthest room moving the furniture around to annoy the staff:rofl::rofl:

We have an assortment of children who sometimes attend and there has never been a problem.

Steve usually has his Briskoda fleece on.If you see a red Fiat 500 in the car park then you know we are definitly there so don't give up looking for us.Obviously sometimes we cannot get our preferred seating area so you may need to search.

Just approach tables that look promising and throw your Skoda keys in the fruitbowl:rofl::rofl::rofl:

No we are not like that even though we met on the net.....

Kathy

Might be better if you popped along on the 5TH ;) as we will be there then and not the 9th.

Sometimes bring my girls with me 7 and 10.

As Kathy has said we just sit and chat normally in one of the end rooms or if the weather is fine outside. just look out for Black fleeces with Briskoda on them.

Oh, welcome to Briskoda

Hi guys, what goes down at these meets?

Big fat juicy Beef burgers. :)

If you want burger you have to be quick as a few people have found, they are quite popular and you can miss out.

Stanley I won't be around but I can vouch for Impossible. Did my belt, tensioner water pump on my VRS for a very reasonable £274 all in using VAG parts. It'll be going back there for its service. I will not be at next meeting but will be around in July. There is Whitehill an independent Skoda Service place in Meopham who used to be dealers as well. I have seen feedback on here that says they are expensive. If you want to stay closer to home there is a VAG specialist behind the Shell Garage on Bluebell Hill (Chatham direction). Can't think his name but in the book. Didn't use him as he recommended me NOT to have my belt changed at 4 years:confused::confused:

Hope you like the car:thumbup:

I will probably be able to come along to this, I've put it on the calendar. It just depends if the long haired colonel can come up with something "better" for me to be doing...

SWMBO rules eh ! ;):)

Certainly does.

Best thing really, if I was in charge of the calendar nothing would ever get done.

looks like another nice cool cloudy Friday, so if it stays like that then dont forget your jackets for sitting outside, & note we cannot have a wooden spoon account for food & drink, if we sit outside.

Think we might be inside :D

Looks like we'll probably be along about 8 tonight to looking forwads to meeting any of you that are around.
