fabia VRS 'Black Magic' Mesh type grille WANTED

Featured Replies

Dear All,

Does anyone know where I can purchase a black magic coloured grille for a Fabia Vrs. There was one on Ebay, but I was outbid. I would appreciate any info on styling addition websites to visit etc.

Regards

I just bought one of these UNIQUE TUNING, TOP CAR GRILL for SKODA FABIA on eBay, also Grilles, Meshes Vents, Exterior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-May-09 22:50:43 BST)

Going to get it painted up this weekend, quality seems good but we'll see how it turns out - I'll post pics once done. BTW its pretty much identical to the Milotech ones on superskoda.com just almost half the price, thisnk mine was £67 with delivery all the way from Poland!

Well I just tried fitting the above grille I bought on ebay - I'ts miles off fitting but I think with a bit of jiggery pokery and a bit filing here and there I think I can get it to fit, its alot of work though compared to the ebay ad 'perfect fit for your fabia' :(

I know I was a bit of a guinea pig buying it but at least we all know it doesnt fit!

On appearance it looks identical to the milotech grille but the curve of the grille itself and the moulding on the rear is anything but a good fit, see my pics below:

Edit: I managed to get this to fit relatively easily, so was a bit harsh on the seller maybe? Fits okay if you bolt it from the top first and buy a couple slightly longer bolts from the ones supplied. I had to file the holes back slightly on the bracket though but apart from that its not bad. Will post up to date pics shortly as a comparison to the below.

Overall I'm really dissapointed as it was still £70 and I think my spray painting turned out fairly well- its by no means perfect but at a glance I dont think you'd be able to tell that much (especially once the rest of the car is washed and waxed etc). Hopefully after Ive put a bit of work in at the weekend I can post up some more successful pictures!

I dont suppose anyone else has had this problem or even bought from this ebay seller? Its pretty obvious what I have to do to get it to fit but what a ball ache!

Correcting myself: grille fits with a small mod to the bracket

that looks a poor colour match ?

that looks a poor colour match ?

I agree its not perfect but stay with me, if I can get it to fit I think it will turn out okay after a wash etc - if not I'll take it to a body shop and have it done properly. Its not helped by the paintowrk being 5 years old I guess.

John

yea see what it looks like after a wash and a polish

Quick update, I managed to get this to fit okay with only a little bit of filing to the brackets that hold the grille on! Will post up pics tomorrow after I've given it a mini detail!
