My New Octy....

Featured Replies

Herewith attached photy's of my Octy VRS TDI CR DSG.

After driving around in a Vauxhall Insignia Diesel for five weeks, a new car from ground up, I realised what an awesome piece of kit the Octavia is. The Vauxhall is simply SHYTE. It can't hold a candle to the Skoda. My old car was the Petrol VRS, I thought I was making a mistake after driving around in the tractor like rattletrap Vauxhall diesel. The CR engine is a gem, only a barely discernable growl tells you it's an oil burner on tickover.

In short I'm kiddy as a kipper over my new motor. I also had worries over the fact that the new model was due, and the petrol is really hard to come by now. It made me think that the diesel was a poor relative. My worries were entirely unfounded. After PM's from a couple of guys on here, I took the plunge. I have to say it's a very special car.

Tonight I had a spin up to the moors above Harrogate overlooking RAF Menwith Hill and took some shots.

Very nice, considering a white one for my next car if I choose another Vrs.

The paint finish seems to be a lot smoother on the white, compared to my old race blue one.

Wait till Baker gets his hands on it later this month, it will gleam like a gem:D

Nice :)

I volunteer you to be the first white colour coded grille pioneer.

Best car you'll ever have

Nice babe!!

White looks great.....well wear

Tha looks awesome , and more calendar-worthy pics too!

Beautiful, I'm really tempted by white on my next one :)

Congrats on the new car!

Have to say you made the best possible choice! My opinion has nothing to do with the fact that I have a candy white octavia vRS 2.0 TDI CR DSG hatch with a load of extras as well...

Looks great, and slightly familiar :)

I would stay away from the colour coded grill on white, I don't think it would look great so i have decided against it.

i was going to suggest white grill too, but i think silver does actually look better on it. but now im thinking about black how that would look???

Like this I'd expect http://briskoda.net/octavia-ii/my-new-vrs-estate/140772/

I colour coded my grill surround on my black vRS as I knew it would suit the car. If I'm honest it's the only colour I think it really works on so personally wouldn't bother with it on a different colour car. Each to their own though.

Welcome to the vRS CR DSG fold - you won't regret it - I can't believe it's a diesel most of the time either

Cheers for the comments folks. I bought it from Simpsons in Colne. Sorry Ants!

Andrew, the salesman there kept it for me whilst my beloved petrol vrs was being fixed by Pulleyn's in York.

I thought I might lose out in the end. It took six weeks to fix. So all in all I'm happy that Pulleyn's did a cracking repair and Simpson's waited.

The DSG box is a marvel. I have had a couple of 'brown pants' moments setting off from roundabouts when nothing seems to happen  when I put my foot down. I tend to leave it in normal, as sport seems like the engine is going to fly out of the bonnet.

I think my driving style has become a little less frenetic since I bought this car, it really is a lovely car to drive. I really cannot stress enough, how superior the diesel engine is to the piece of rattly rubbish neith the bonnet of the Vauxhall Insignia. This is a car that has won car of the year as well!! Looks great, but no substance. If this is Vauxhall's last throw of the dice, then I'm afraid GM are f00£ed.

Cracking photos.

Glad we got you sorted out one way or another!
