Featured Replies

getting a nova cheap as chips and want some tips to get it to go faster, no silly p**s takin answers please as it is actually being picked up tomorrow and its gonna get played with, i aint joking.

its a 1.5TD, so how do we crank the boost up too high and how long will it last??

we are gonna start simple by striping out most of the stuff that ain't needed and givin it some real cheesy stylin(painted windows to look like tints and maybe spray random bits chrome, to make it look classy)

This thread is beggin' for chav replies.

Where do we start - bean cans exhaust tailpipes?

Seriously though, that engine probably has a little knob you can twist with a screwdriver to control fuelling and stuff... may work ;)

A burberry baseball cap for starters....

and maybe spray random bits chrome, to make it look classy)

Oh dear ...........No matter what you do to a Nova it ain't going to look classy :D

If you didn't want any silly **** taking answers you shouldn't have started this thread

It may be as cheap as chips ..........but personally I would prefer the chips ;)

look, its

I would seriously look for a fuelling "knob" somewhere on the engine. Apart from that, enjoy its severe cheapness. My

Still, I cashed the remaining tax in which netted me

I found something... there is DEFFO a fuelling knob/screw as I thought - turn that right up. :D Plus you can alter the boost of the turbo - 1.1 bar seems to be a figure generally easy to reach. Also quoting this off migweb

"the boost release valve is located under the air filter box

The yellow Arror is pointing at the overboost protection valve."

Damn piccie doesn't work but it gives a pointer - overboost protection, who needs that?

Good luck. Just don't start wearing any burberry! aye!? :D

Surefire way to get it to do 0-60 in 5 seconds or less......

Drive it off Beachy Head :D

Dont listen to them Bengie, they all moan about how Skoda gets a rough time imagewise then poke fun at you because your getting a cheap runabout Nova. I've had two before the Fabia whilst I was saving for the house and both cars were excellent fun due to the fact that I drove them with complete disregard and nil mechanical sympathy.

Best advice is to leave the engine alone and mod the brakes and suspension. A full G-MAX suspension kit which I had on both cars is good for the money (around

Ross is a Nova-Boy..na na na na naaaa... :D

if the car only cost you

want some tips to get it to go faster

Remove every superfluous bit of interior and trim, turn the fuelling up until you get a thick black smoke out of the exhaust, then fit a NOS system.

Will go like the clappers... :D

cheers rob, thats the sort of thing we had in mind  cheap and dirty, its not a keeper by any means just a quick cheap thrill and some thing to mess about with, in all honesty we don't care if only lasts 3-4 weeks as long as we get some fun from it. so how exactly do i whack up the fuel and boost?? them links off of mig slightly confused me as there were no pic's

and about the engine transplants, my mate has a white 3 door hatch that is on its third engine gte, then a 2 ltr now a 2.0T, he is planning a mid engined rear wheel drive 2.5 twin turbo from a toyota. now that should go like the clappers :D

i used to run nova td on my school. they were pretty nippy. 0-60 10.5 i seem to remember. i would say the same as Jason up the fuel screw and stick a bleed valve on the turbo.

right, i'm now the proud owner of not 1, but 2 broken cars.

the nova works very well and runs sweet, the only thing wrong with it is that broken engine mount, or so we thought. looked at it this morning and it seems that the bolt/s the secure the engine mount to the engine have snapped clean off, the mount itself isn't actually damaged at all, is this gonna be an engine out job to remove the broken studs from the engine? as you look at the engine bay its the mount on the left attached to the wheel arch area that is broken.

Geoff you p*ss taker!!!
