should the engine be this slanted?!

Featured Replies

I've been getting a clonk from my passenger side for ages now.

I greased the mount and it made no difference.

Looking at my engine just now, looks way too slanted to me?

Thats interesting, because mine seems to slant more than usual, and the gearbox clunks on tickover, hmmmmm.

Joel,

Explain your clunk? Is it on gear changes and on the blip of the throttle?

If so, I'm experiencing the same and have found that the front ARB has shifted towards the N/S. Can you check the spacing of the arb from the sub frame

Check the bolt hasn't sheared/dropped out of the mount that attatches to the gearbox, this kind of happened with my Mk2 Octy, was makin a horrid clunkin/cracking noise whilist setting off from a standstill.

At first i thought the front wishbone bushes had gone, so I replaced them to find out although they were in bad shape that it wasn't the cause of the problem.
