Strange noise

Featured Replies

Recently i noticed a whining noise coming from my car, i thought it was related to a gubbed CV joint that i just replaced, hoping it would go away when i changed the cv but it never.

You can only hear it when u reach 50mph, and it only stops if you slow down to about 45mph. It gets louder the faster you go, i think its coming from the front drivers side, but unsure. Noticed it about 3 weeks ago wen the CV started clicking, i thought maybe its related, but it clearly isnt.

Anyone any suggestions?

Its defo more of a whining noise rather than a rumble noise...

The car in question is a 2001/51 plate octavia SDi classic. Ex taxi 205k on the clock
