Steve-

I too as an oldie here have noticed the decline in spelling & punctuation, but have decided - If you dont know any better - then ignornace is bliss ::rolleyes:

or

just jion the bad speling krew and put pikchewashun, any-were yu like: .

Whilst I like to type in reasonably accurate, good English I'm not too bothered by other people's errors as long as I can understand them.

We're living in a world where more people are expected to have higher levels of literacy and to be able to type than ever before. Most people aged over about 35 did not have regular access to computers at school (and possibly not at university). People with dyslexia find the whole reading/writing process a challenge and not everyone has has access to the same education and learning opportunities.

I'm all in favour giving people a bit of slack, providing you can determine their meaning...

What has all this got to do with "What is the differance between the TDi being all Red and the TD Black and the i being Red" ??

For the uneducated that can't spell use a fecking dictionary or spellchecker ................. It's difference .................. christ do they not teach anything in school these days!

I feel its unfair the way you have treated timelord on this. That comment above was disruptive and not needed, and has no relevance to the topic. If little things like modern day english gets you that upset, I would recommend you dont say anything at all, for the good of the topic, the way people write / text ect has changed. modern day times am afraid! :rotz:

intresting topic by the way :D

(my 2p)

I think you're being generous in attributing it to dislexia. It could just be laziness, of course, which is somewhat less troubling than gross illiteracy, but either way I wouldn't employ someone who can't write proper. (That last bit's an attempt at a joke, by the way).

Thank You Sir.

I am doing 12+ hour days six days a week, this is not a place of business or requiring perfect literature. This is a place to relax and talk to fellow Skoda owners and I had a question that granted is a minor and silly one, but I am interested in the differEnce in the way engines a displayed on the back of Fabia's.

I am sure you think of me as a un-educated youth and a decline in British education, but quite frankly I do not care what you think. As I think of you as a pathetic old man who needs to create a unpleasant atmosphere over (1) yes One simple letter being wrong in a word... to me this is a depressing fact that you have nothing else in life then to point out errors of others, a small suggestion look at yourself before casting stones my way.

None the less the Positive / Constructive response that have been posted here, I appreciate it very much.

amen to that and am 20 so sounds good that your not over 55 like some it would suggest :o

VW and Skoda use the same silver and red tdi lettering. However, these represent different engines in each make and model. an all red tdi is usually the most powerful. All silver, the least powerful. So its 105 bhp in a Fabia but 140bhp in an Octavia.

So does anyone know why the I in MPI on a Mk1 fabia would be in red as I see one regularly in Berwick with that badge. As far as I am aware though , all MPIs are 68 BHP so differing power outputs are ruled out , or are they?? Anyone know?

From what I understand all UK MPI's were 68 even those with the red in the badge. however abroad there was a lower powered version with about 60bhp. So I think it was just luck of the draw here if you got the plain badge or the red one.
