The van is now polished - thanks to Auto Glym

Featured Replies

I feel ashamed to say it, but this is the first car I've owned that I've put so much effort in to polish - probably down to being on this website.

Didn't do a full detail, just Auto Glym Shampoo, followed by Auto Glym Super Resin Polish, taken off with a Halfords polishing mitt.

Whoops - almost forgot the Car Plan Tyre Slik Wet Look Tyres Spray.

Pretty pleased with the results - but Baker (thanks for the trainers) can rest easy in his bed :) I wouldn't want to do it too often.

Very nice, now get some wax on it :)

Looking good mate, you used the same products that I use, but I finish mine off with a coat of extra gloss protection, which I then reapply every two or three washes.

The Vulcan rules ok

My mega detailing session went something like this...

Step 1, Pulled up at Morrisons car wash in Skipton

Step 2, Pam went into kiosk & came back out with a piece of paper with a 6-digit code

Step 3, Unscrewed aerial, folded down then tightened it up

Step 4, Entered code into terminal (873-893 IIRC)

Step 5, Lights lit up on car wash, proceeded forward until it said STOP

Step 6, Put Neil Diamond on the MFD3, seat on memory position 2 (position 3 is for special occasions! :P)

Step 7, Relaxed & watched my car magically become all clean & shiny

Step 8, Pam tried to wake you up because it coincided with your afternoon nap

Step 9, Pam went into Morrisons to do the weekly shop

Step 10, Pam returned to find you just regaining consciousness in time to drive home before the frozen items defrosted

:rofl::rofl:

Good effort. Think the wheels look better in those pics too

Looks really good, what a beautiful mirror finish you've got there:thumbup::cool:.

Thanks

Where are the photos taken? Particularly interested to know exactly where the Vulcan is. The only one I know about is at Elvington, York.

On the A15 at RAF Waddington - the two day airshow is on 4th and 5th July if you are interested, and I think the Vulcan (not the one in the pics) is due to be flying again

If I time it right, I might just have another cloth handy for simbo99 before we VAGCOM his Octy!

I doubt it - he'll be too busy looking over your shoulder - Simeon's a keen learner :)

If you where to spring for a set of those smoked angel eye lights (from an earlier thread) that car would look the dogs ******* ( even more so then it already does).

Spot on. you should try the anthracite poll now with those pics innstead

Blimey, that's shiney Brimmer! Fancy coming up to Bradford & doing mine? :)

^^^^^^^^^^^ :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Thanks :)

The pipe is the original one out of the showroom, so I assume it's standard.

has someone keyed it with tramlines??

Any tips for removing scratches from black without damaging the lacker

Random orbital polisher, with a suitable pad and polish for the task. Or by hand, try Meguiars Scratch-X.

If you're doing the whole car, it'll tone up your arms like nothing else!

Hell yeah - I'd never recommend doing a whole car with it, but if needs must and there's no access to a PC/G220/UDM....

Steve

Looking good. I'll leave mine dirty post LM trip and you can wash it while I fit your Maxidot shall I? I can also provide free tea.
