Braking question

Featured Replies

just renewed my rear pads on the octy vrs, everythig went well not even a cut inflicted on knuckes.

just been out for a tinkle about ,and they are sound, trouble is now the handbrake is coming up alot further than before, which i don't want,it works but is coming up about 3-4 notches before it becomes effective.

need some advice on adjusting it,is it an "in car " as was my ibiza and cordoda or do i go get the jack back out?

the car is in for a service on frday,is the dealer likely to charge me much for doing it or is it part of the 40k service to check it?

if its a ten min job "in car "i'll DIY if its an under job then its dealer time.

i think that driveway mechanicing has to stop soon,my back just ain't up to it anymore :(

anyone ????

3/4 notches does sound about right to me mate.

And remember after winding the pistons back it will take a bit of driving before the rachet adjusts itself back up fully.

mm its deffo more than before and the pistons were fully out, pads were just off the backplate,oh well, off out to drive it see if it settles down, cheers ross

Jason, don't worry about the handbrake as Ross says it'll sort itself out after a bit of use. I did SWMBO's Audi last weekend and had the same probs for a couple of days. Fine now... well it was when I sold it on friday anyway ;)
