First long run

Featured Replies

Hi all,

just thought I'd give you a quick overview of my roomy's first proper run from Leeds to the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland. Me , the wife and the car covered just over 1100 miles in the week and I have to say I am so impressed with my first Skoda. No bum/back ache thanks to comfortable seats and driving position, an average of 53mpg from the 1.4TDI. Good suspension that dealt with the worst back road surfaces and so much space inside for all the holiday gear plus fishing tackle. There were a few other Roomies out there with the first one we encountered on the A66 giving us a cheery wave - another member maybe ? All in all a good holiday in a great car.

Cheers.

I did about 800 miles last week in my R3 TDi, touring the Lake District. The car behaved impeccably; not so SWMBO who had kittens ascending Hardknott Pass. The diesel's torque meant we sailed up. As for seeing other Roomies - I spotted just two. They were both in Hampshire at the beginning and end of the run respectively. And one was on the back of a transporter! Talk about rarities
