Fitting a steering track rod

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Had a slip up a while ago, 1.4mpi fabia understeered and hit a curb side on, i replaced the bottom arm and ball joint, the only other damage was a bent track rod. Ive purchased a new one and was going to fit it later today, just thought i'd ask about the process. From what i see, it looks like both ends are threaded, so i am asuming the rod simple threads out, and the new one in? Looks simple, but theres usually something i overlook!

All advice appriciated.

many thanks, 2012

Hi 2012

I think you have it all sorted, but not sure on that one but the threads on one end might

be left hand thread, and when done you must have the car "tracked" at a tyre place

It's a bit of a pig to get at while on the car but it's do-able.
