Car alarm going off when driving

Featured Replies

My wife drove the car home on the motorway the other night with the alarm going off every now and then , she has a PD170 VRS

I've done a search but couldnt find anything , any ideas???

Did she nick it?!?!

I have no idea to the cause - it just popped into my head. I'm sure she is a law-abiding member of the public.

I was driving a Gallardo at 140mph on th M40 last week, and the alarm went off.

Yes, it was time to get up for work :thumbdwn:

To be fair its probably how she drives it , i know i am often alarmed when she is driving

I'll be giving it some TLC next week and i will be detailing it so i'll have a play around and see if i can get it to happen

I bet it sounded like an umarked police car....lol

One owner here in Germany had that too. Faulty cable was the cause. Let all the alarm cables be checked.

The faulty cable was caused by the factory (got squished somewhere).

Mostly it will be a ground contact somewhere, that lets the siren go off. (for the siren it looks as if a wire is cut.)

The mk2 seems to have a lot of electrical gremlins.

Hasnt one member had his car with SUK now for some time for alarm issues?

EDIT mis-read as a Superb 2 for some reason which has had alarm issues.

Pre modellyear 07 have been a pain in the behind, lot of troubles with the alarmsystem.

I have a modellyear 07 RS TDI PD and havent had any troubles with the factory installed alarmsystem.
