first of all i must apologise for the length of this topic but my head is about to explode with rage and hopefully by the end of this rant i will have calmed down

anyway, ive started my new job a a few week back now, got a 13 mile drive to pick up my first passenger, theres 4 different routes to get there, the one i would use has just started 4 major roadworks causing ridiculous traffic so i go down route 2, 2 days into it, they decide to start roadworks, again causing major tailbacks, likely to go on for 4 weeks, route 3 roadworks have been going on for weeks, thought they might have finished, erm no, still ongoing, so i tried 4th route for past 2 week, yey no road works....... until today!!! so thats 4 routes, all seperate from each other all with road works, not just any, roadworks that put 15/20 mins on a journey maybe more.

thats part one, next incident, at a filter lane with traffic hardly moving, some guy doesnt seem to understand the aspect of a filter lane, thinks im pushing in:rolleyes: proceeds to call my company and tell them i overtook him towards oncoming traffic at high speed. while i wish i had the balls to pull off such a manouver i have the sense not to, it wouldnt be as bad but ive just started with this company so it didnt look very good

THEN!! on a dual carriage way coming to red lights a guy cuts in from the left, skimming my front end and the back end of the car in the left lane, i beep horn, he proceeds to laugh!! like its funny to almost wipe out 2 vehicles.

then i get a break and go see my wife to calm down and have a chat, leaving all relaxed and cheery im back in the van, then im behind some complete muppet in an astra, hes sat there trying to let traffic out of a street on the right while the traffic coming the opposite way has no signs of stopping or any gaps, this guy has nothing infront stopping him carrying on, theres a beep behind me, then i beep at him, hes still sat there, looking at me in his mirror calling me **** this and nob that:eek: he then realises what a ridiculous idea hes had, speeds off onto the roundabout nearly wiping out a lass in a polo

thinking im not far from home ill be sat relaxing in 10 mins some d!ick in a merc, obviously the brains of a ****ing fish, im in left hand lane of dual carriage way going straight on at roundabout (yes this one is straight on for both lanes) im on the roundabout past the first exit, guy coming from entrance before the one i was at has sped round in the inside, gone to exit where i am but hes gone to exit in my lane even though im infront of him, beeping at me, its hard to explain, ill try draw a diagram but it made my head go, i seriously wanted to get out and slap him, i almost turned into michael douglas' character from the above film;) well maybe not so much going on a mental rampage, i just wanted to get out my van, and shout lots of swear words really loud!

I'm having real difficulty seeing what the Merc driver is supposed to have done to you. AIUI your text there's a car you've not drawn in round about where you've drawn the "bold" arrow trying to drive into his LH door.

Hope you feel better for sharing that with us - thats the most important issue here I guess.

But to be honest I'm rather confused and thinking thats 5 mins of my life I won't get back

gotta chill! life's not worth getting wound up over idiots who can't drive properly. just shake your head and carry on, its not worth the blood pressure

The pic shows nothing wrong, or you were too slow/path blocked?

As for roadworks, they happen as do accidents closing the motorway right infront of you for 4 hours - usually after you've not long passed a junction or services. You have to be tough, drive defensively and safely, and chill out!!!!

If you get this annoyed when driving's seemingly part of your job, I think you might want to consider another position

While some of what I read isn't the correct behaviour or attitude perhaps of other motorists, it's a fact of daily life on the roads unfortunately. Not right, but you need to accept it and get on with things. Just let it wash over you and remain calm

If you get this annoyed when driving's seemingly part of your job, I think you might want to consider another position

While some of what I read isn't the correct behaviour or attitude perhaps of other motorists, it's a fact of daily life on the roads unfortunately. Not right, but you need to accept it and get on with things. Just let it wash over you and remain calm

im not saying he did anything wrong, im saying his complete ****tish blasting horn at me and belting up at the side of me is what annoyed me, also, if theres anybody on here who has someone pull a stupid monoever on them and everytime they just shake their head and carry on i think youre talking crap, i dont always lose it but theres times i do

Your obviously new to this van driving lark, you need to be more offensive in your own driving technique, ie 1) the van should be that dirty no one can read how to contact your firm,

2) The guy stood to let people out.. over/under take him whilst leaning on the horn

3) There should never be room between your front bumper and the car in front for a fag paper let alone another car :eek:

4) The Merc should never have been able to catch you up on the r'about given your headstart.

Get the simple things right and then join RM and you can have the right to paint your van red in pictures :P

LOL, nope. They must come with NOS as standard as they shift! loved my Astra van.
