Check Oil level message on Maxi-Dot

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have an 1.8TSI Superb II. Today the message "Check oil level" was showed on the Maxi-Dot. I checked it and it really needed to top up, so I filled it. The problem is that I still have this message while the oil level is good. Based on the manual if the front of the car (engine area) is open for 30 seconds, then the message disappears, but it didn't happen. Any idea how to get rid of of this fault message?

I had this on a 1.8TSi Octavia and it needed a bit of oil but not much, it went off 3 more times before the warning went away. Not sure why it didn't go off straight away?

Take the battery leads off for an hour.

After 100 kilometer, the Oil warning went away.

I'm not sure if it's right or not, but I had to put 0,75l oil to top the oil level after 9000km...

Probably works the after so many starts check to put it out.

I don't understand this at all, sorry.

On some cars Ray, even though the fault has been fixed unless the fault is cleared by the Vag-Com etc it will still show, but it only happens until the ECU is assured by the reporting sensors that the fault no longer exists and this is generally done after a few stops and starts of the car over a certain amount of time, I believe it's part of the keeping a record of a fault mode so that by the time you get the car looked at there is still a registered fault even if it's intermitant, hth.
