Speed camerason Columbus?

Featured Replies

My Columbus unit does not show the location of speed cameras. I was under the impression that it would, is it possible to find out what version of software its using, and also is there an upgrade?

thanks in advance

Gary

I know this is of little help but personally, all the "in-car" Sat Nav I have seen appear to be inferior to good ol' Tom Tom with the addition PocketGPSWorld.com's database of cameras.

You may find a Tom Tom is cheaper than an upgrade to you current sat nav.

Nevertheless, you can add speed cameras as additional POIs to the Columbus Navigation yourself. You will need to make copy of the original installation DVD and add it there and reinstall, but it is doable. Someone has posted detailed guide to do so on this forum forum earlier so just search archives for it.

Ah yes, but remember: you won't be notified, as they are "simple" POI's and the Columbus is unable to notify when a POI is nearby.

Short answer: no, when it comes to warning for speed cams, the Columbus isn't the unit you want.

No manufacturers sat nav unit will.

Only the stand alones can.
