hallo, did your skode quit on your first day?

Featured Replies

I'm an Octavia II driver from Holland. My second hand 2005/7 Octavia 1.9 tdi Ambiente quit on me on the first day! It just didn't run any more. After a 30 minute drive the engine doesn't get fuel any more (that's what they say at the garage). The car had 110k km to testdrive so... The only new part on the car is a towing hook and a long-life-service.

I felt pretty bad when that happened (for us it is quite an investment). I now drive a boring Ford Escort and have a nice Skoda key in my pocket. The garage is trying to make it feel like everything is going to be fine (which is nice).

Welcome to Briskoda. :) Hopefully it will be a simple fault such as a faulty relay which is the problem.

Oh dear poor you thats really bad luck :thumbdwn:.

Hello and welcome though :wavey:. Sorry thats all i can offer, hope all turns out ok.

Welcome. Hope you get it sorted :)

maybe the previous owner ran it on Vegetable oil or something, and it clogged the fuel jets? Im sure it isnt uncommon these days with the high fuel prices.

Hiya.

I don't know Dutch Consumer Rights law, but if this had happened in the UK I think you'd be allowed to say to the seller "fix this, or give me another car/my money back".

The new part, a towing hook, had some parts mounted in the fuse box. One of the wires was disconnected: the air mass sensor ...

Everything was paid for under warranty, including the towing costs. :D

welcome
