Got any pictorial evidence? :)

According to the Fabia Technical data handbook, max torque of 126 Nm occurs at 4400 RPM. I used to average 50 on long motorway trips running at 70s, in fifth at approx 3750RPM. And my saloon has air con.

Although I understand that the air con is always driven whether its switched on or not, so the engine always has to deal with the energy overhead of turning the air con compressor.

Engine produced better MPG on local suburban trips after it loosened-up. This occured when someone (1) forgot to top-up the oil after a long-run and the red-light came on going round a corner. Whoever it was, thanks !

Regularly, get a transient indicated 80-90 MPG on a level surface in fourth on the subarban commuting route to work.

This was taken prior to when it hit the peak mpg.. Not quite used to taking photos of the dash while driving, so you'll have to take my word for it :P

That makes me more determined to get 60 mpg out of my estate. I got to 56.7mpg but I am really struggling to get much more out of the old girl now.:eyepop:

forget who has the highest bhp, we now have a more green topic, soooooo anymore takers on 60.2mpg? i think also that we need rules here.

That you need to do a minimuim of 5 miles and film the display as you go from mpg to distance to time. this way there is evidence and not a case of reseting the mpg as you about to roll down a steep hill. If this isnt included into this thread then you will get some sad sod come along with a pic claiming 80mpg by doing what ive described trying to look good and not from actual fuel efficent driving.

Even though they are fair rules I think it might be hard for people to film while driving..

Should this be done as a new thread?

Perhaps real MPG should be calculated by brimming the fuel tank as the display may be off slightly.

I managed 46.7mpg down/from the national meet. When I got to Bridlington next weekend I may take it uber steady and see what I can do.

obviously pull over to the side of the road and film the display as you flick through the results (mpg, miles, average speed etc).

Oh right lol, that makes a lot more sense! Haha :o

lol, dont want anyone crashing or getting nicked.

Mine is the 100bhp one and on a 60 odd mile trip the other day which included a number of stops, some town driving and plenty roundaobouts we managed 49mpg which I thought was excellent

got 49.9mpg to work today still not beaten my 50+mpg
