I know a GT28RS would be nice but for the price that kit is at would it be worth it?

its very cheap for all that lot.

load of balls, that entire kit is a few hundred quid cheaper than a gt30 is on its own and thats only rated to 480bhp. i would touch this with yours mate.

plus nearly £300 carriage to the uk...

Plus all the import duty on top of that, car parts attract a higher rate than normal goods.

This may fit left hand drive and be crap but yours is right hand drive.

A mate with a 200SX bought one of these cheapo turbo kits from America off ebay. It lasted 3 weeks before eating itself.

I can't access ebay at work, but if it's stupidly cheap, then it's probably a copy.

We have big problems with Chinese companies copying our turbos and selling them with our name on. We've had a load here for inspection and testing, and they are pretty shocking. Every one of our turbos has to pass a containment test (the compressor and turbine wheels are deliberately weakened and oversped, and when they burst the housings must contain all the pieces). The Chinese turbos don't contain, so potentially very dangerous for the truck driver. It's only really an issue on bigger turbos, but still an eye opener.

I know its never going to be as good as a Garrett but the best price we can seem to get a FMIC alone is £200, they do have very good feedback and I have had a quick search on the forums and was looking for negative/positive comments from people that have bought one.

So where you working then Bodge? Holset? I know there are big problems with Chinese copying everything in the world, some of it good, some of it really bad. I think your right though about something that is going to be spinning in excess of 100,000rpms, wouldn't want to see that blowing up. I guess there are some things I can't save money on.

if its too good to be true then it isn't.and at those prices i'm surprised anyone would think it's a quality product.

Why does no one use the T3/T4 turbo upgrade on here?

It seems to give good performance and you can pick up a genuine secondhand one very cheaply. I have seen a few dynos and some good figures from these on the vag 1.8T engines.
