Hi all.

I'm currently driving a R32. But it should be going on Friday, and I'm looking at the Fabia Vrs as I need to downsize, and look for economy whilst I get a new house sorted out.

My name's Mike, obviously, and I live in Manchester. Been a VAG person most of my life, and I've always liked the Vrs.

A quick search tells me that cambelts are looking at 60-80k and 4 years, which ever is the sooner. Am I right in thinking that?

Fingers crossed if the person selling the Vrs will negotiate on the cost due to the lack of cambelt, and it being a 53 plate, I could be sticking around here for a bit.

I know Babs... I had a blue R32 a few years ago, sold that one... went through Audi S3's, Golf Anniversary's but found my backside back in another 3.2!

But I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a Vrs, providing mine sells, and that I find the right one.

Just rang a few places and they all recomment 4 or 5 year changes of belts, and I know the one I'm looking at is a 53, and on the original belt and water pump, so if he won't negotiate to allow for the change, I'll have to look elsewhere. :thumbdwn:

I've been looking at blue R32's recently... still pricey!

Cambelt is 4 years and 60k.

Thanks for the cambelt info... that's my bargaining tool. Had a quote for £300 to do the cambelt and water pump....so If I can get him to at least knock that off, I'll be in a Vrs by Sunday!
