Tow bar electrics - update - still no fix

Featured Replies

A further sorry update on the rubbish Skoda service for my non fully operational Skoda tow bar electrics. Dealer Allams of Epsom promised on 17th June that the fix would be available in three weeks - but it isn’t. No replies to my last two e-mails. Wendy Dextor of Skoda UK now at least contacts me regularly - but she has no definite news when the fix will be available. I have even written to Warren Richards, at Skoda UK, Yeomans Drive,Blakelands, Milton Keynes, MK14 5AN, reputed via this forum to be the head man of the business - he hasn’t bothered to reply either. As I am loosing all confidence in Skoda and need this modification completed soon for my next touring holiday I am at last seeking specialists quotes for the fairly simple modifications.

I have now started posts to the various UK caravan forums and What Tow car magazine to upgrade the publicity about Skoda’s towing system deficiencies. Yes, I know some of you said ‘told you so’, about this issue but I have tried to remain optimistic.

I'm not sure why Karen would have promised it would be available in 3 weeks, unless Skoda told her that this was the case.

Just checked again on our EPAC system and there is still nothing showing currently about the split charging.

Have Skoda themselves actually given you a time frame for when the system will be available?

No replies to my last two e-mails.

i know the feeling. Unfortunately Allams are bad at answering emails once you have purchased your car. To balance the argument they are very nice people and James was great , sadly let down by their very poor attitude toward timely communication with after sales issues.

In reply, Skoda UK have given no time frame at all except that it will be soon - however they have been saying that for months!! They now ring every week to tell me nothing! One would think that someone in Skoda, somewhere in the world, is working on this issue, and working to some programme, which could be shared with customers. It seems they are happy about customers being kept in the dark. In this weeks conversation Skoda UK even seemed happy that I am in the process of getting quotes for a third party specialist fix - hopefully this week, so I can have the work done for early August and recharge Allams.
