i`m thinking of going to knockhill for a track day sometime soon

so what do i get for my money ?

IE how many laps

any tuition crash helmet hire

did check the website but it only tells you the price and date

Depends who's organised it Neil, certain driving club days offer slightly better value for money, open pit lane etc.

Generally it's a 9am-1pm thing, or 1pm-6pm etc...

Helmet hire is usually fine at KH, think you just leave £10 deposit incase you do a runner, i've always taken my own, so dont quote me 100% on that.

And if you're a first timer, they usually take you round for a few laps to give you an idea of what it's like.

Or

Blag a few passenger laps, you'll soon get the feel.

Lost count how many times i've been round, it's a great track when you get the feel for it.

I think they have actually started charging for helmets now instead of deposits :( As above I take my one, primarily because you know its decent quality, never had any drops or knocks but mainly it hasnt had someone elses scabby head in it.

Previous trackdays with SCN/SE or the Star Performance/Dreadnought days have been 5-8 with open pit lanes and instructors willing to jump in your car for some pointers, worth doing it with a club that has similar motors (Read that as financial constraints:rofl:) the trackdays with dreadnought were terrible when you got caught in a pack of rich blokes with track day exiges/TVR's, you would sort your line out for the hairpin and the next thing you know theres a fecking lotus sitting on the apex on your inside

Trying to push out the hairpin will be like driving on ice today !

ummm been there years ago with some mates..... took my renault 5 for 1 lap cost me £20 quid... but was able to do more but i was only 20 at the time and a bog standard renault 5 GTL 1.4 isnt designed as a track car.......
