OK, i have got a few p/n's sussed, have a windscreen and sensor on order from the czech republic as no stock here in nz! wondering if anyones got a skoda wiring diagram relating to therain sensor?? the wiring at the mirror and sensor end is easy, just regarding the pickup for reverse is one im wondering about (just being finiky and trying to keep it look standard :))

like your plan, keep us posted with how you get on!

I have a factory fitted rain sensor on my Octavia RS Mk1. In my opinion, it is poo, and does not work properly. I would love to disable it and have the ordinary adjustable intermittant wiper control instead.

Ive never had any issues with rain sensors in other cars ive driven, i know you can make the system revert back to standard intermitent wipers by disconecting the sensor and they will work as bob the basic intermitent with adjustment on the stalk (if fitted), also with the sensor connected you change the sensitivity of it by changing the intermitent speed switch (if fitted) Will soon find out when i get it all going!

Yes i agree, it would be important to be able to have auto wipers and manual overide, when retrofitting this is always a lot easier!

I had rain sensors on my 2001 306 DTurbo HDi, and they were fantastic. Very quick to respond when car got splashed by a lorry, and equally quick to stop when water had cleared.

The problem I have is that the wipers on the RS do not cancel themselves for at least 10 or 15 seconds after the water has been cleared, by which time I have usually turned them off manually due to the blades screaching on the glass.

I think they're a waste of space. Would much rather have standard intermittant wipers.
