Air Vents...

Featured Replies

Been offered a set of air vents for £30 Inc. P&P

That's the centre with the hazard button and the 2 on each end of the dash.

I wanna paint them silver (after having seen Jason's in the flesh on sunday) and would rather use a spare set than my own in case I muk it up.

Does the price seem good? they all work apparently and aren't broken.

I think from the dealers the middle one is more than that.

I got the middel one and left one for £15 from a scrappys.

So seems like a fair price.

Wicked, Ta!

Did you see mine when you came up?

Easy enough to do, as they all come apart so you can painy just the outer bits. Just make sure you key them up enough as they have a wax like coating. I have shot blast all of ine before I painted them

Alex

ive been thinking about this myself, anyone kind enough to share some pictures? :D

I painted mine black magic about a month ago now, it looks great! Just got some plastic primer, and the rattle can set from the dealers with the colour and laquer. Came to £10. Easy job to do! I will put some pictures up tomorrow if you like.

Si.

Yep, however I have my own method rather than the credit card one shown by someone else on here! Will post tomorrow.

Yeah, Jasons set just reminded me I was gunna do it! Sorry I didn't get a better chance to say Hi at the meet Alex, You were a very popular bunny and your car looked stunning (again) ;)

Not sure what colour to do.. Default is a shade of silver and as my car's black can be any old halfords shade (and think I've got some in my folks shed) but I like that your's & Alex's (and Jasons now I think about it) match the car. Magic Black vents would be interesting and I'm sure look great but I'm trying to lighten up the Dash from all it's darkness.

Still thinking about the chrome rings for the dials as well. It's the dismanteling of the clocks that puts me off that though.

I'll be sure to post when mine are done but don't think it'll be that soon. I'm sooo busy atm!

As promised.....some pictures!

Just insert a blunt knife underneath the vent and push down on the knife. It will lift the vent up and out, no need to insert things in the top. Also you can just do one side at a time, and just hold the one end that you have already pulled out.

Si.

Looks quite nice actually.

I was tempted to do mine Corrida Red but I decided it would look too Max Power!

Might still try it at some point though.

It looked odd to start with, however after a day or two, looking back at the old original grey, its definately a winner!

Bit dark for me, but love the way it keys in with the leather parts! Top Job!

I debated a light shade of grey? To match the seats? Don't think this'll work though. Would look "seatish" with the slats still black though.

Maybe a Graphite colour? Still not light enough though.

Maybe white?
