Finished my A6 but now it's going

Featured Replies

Having met up with a member of this forum early this evening I was reminded that I never posted up the photos of my A6 with the modifications I mentioned here.

So I deceided I should especially as the A6 is soon to be p/x'd. Unfortunately I don't have interior pics of the S-line leather and MMI high but here's the exterior.

Any comments good or bad are welcome.

Looks great, as I'd expect :)

What's she being chopped in for?

Thanks.

I should've said; hopefully a 911 (996) when/if I find the right one. The A3 has also recently been replaced with a Mazda Bongo Campervan. Due to a change of job I now car share with the wife and also do alot less miles.

Very nice - best of luck with the search.

Steve

looking good eddy, hope you find the right car :)

Nice A6 Eddy. Whatever you do, do not jump at the first 911 you come to. The engine in particular could have major issues that are easily hidden, get a good one and its all tickety boo, however get a bad one and watch your wallet empty quickly.

I can confirm that it is indeed a good looking A6. I'm not so sure that "the A6 is too big for the wife" is a good enough justification for getting a 911 but hey it works for me ;)

Good luck finding one, catch up with you again at some point.

That's her logic! I really like the A6 and had no intention of changing cars until she started complaining about the A6 being too long to fit in a parking bay and wanted something shorter.

So you convinced her that a 911 was the perfect alternative?!

I haven't commented on the photos as I cannot see them on my work PC.

That's brilliant logic!

'Porsche 911: the perfect antidote to parking woes'.

:D

Fancy a swap to an A4 ?

It was her idea, I don't particularly want one.

Fancy a swap to an A4 ?

No thanks. :)

I'd love an A6 3.0 TDI Allroad.......*goes off to play on the audi fantasy car speccer*

silly thing you add something then have to add something else then discover you have to take something off then ..... grrrr lol

I'd love an A6 3.0 TDI Allroad.......

But Eddy's is just a FWD 2.7TDI :P

Seriously though, the AllRoad is definitely on my list of cars to own. I know someone with one and it's a brilliant all-rounder, especially in 3.0TDI Quattro tiptronic spec

Well I found the right car and bought it but it's not a 996. I've gone for a facelift 986 Boxster S which I personally prefer over the 996 which the Wife wanted. Not driven it much but already really like it, picked one up with a nice spec including LUX pack, sports seats, xenons, ESP and parking sensors. I really need to get rid of the A6 now but I've not even advertised it yet!

EDIT: Forgot to say I can't decided if to sell as is or return to standard and sell the bits, already have several offers of £1k for the wheels. Any advice welcome.

Interesting choice Eddy :)

What colour did you go for?

On the A6, I'd always be in favour of returning to standard. You get the widest market for the car, and stand the best chance of getting a decent return on the mods you've bought, by selling those on separately.

Steve

You'll like the Boxster, well I am biased as I had one before the Octy.

It's midnight blue with a blue roof and metropole blue leather seats and leather dash.

I had someone round to see the A6 today having contacted me after reading on Tyresmoke that I might be selling. He really liked it and would've taken it today other than it wasn't a quattro, he's still interested though and will let me know tomorrow.

Nice car Eddy......you gotta stop sorting out these wicked cars then selling them on!!!;)

Best of luck with the sale Eddy

Looks nice & tidy, I do like these, but I'm not allowed any new toys for a while yet.

That's exactly what I want in about 11 months time :( Could you hold on to it til then? :)

Very nice car.

Sorry, it was sold today.

Thanks for the comments.

Eeek, that was quick. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be another one out there.

It's gone to a good home
