V5 logbook - RS or vRS?

Featured Replies

Just got my V5 through from DVLA, they've got my car down as an Octavia RS and not a vRS is this right?

vRS, ford wouldn't let em use RS

But just fine as far as a log book is concerned

Log book says RS.

Or in some early cases they were down as an Elegance TDi or something equally silly :)

Wahey , I must own a VRS

My new VRS is described as an RS on the V5C :P

Still waiting to receive my V5 three months after I got the car

Phoned the dealer numerous times to get them to check that they actually sent it to DVLA.

I'm certain the DVLA never received it as we never received a reminder when the tax ran out last month !!!!!

Also noticed on the new owners slip that they state that a Fubry vRS has 6 seats !!!!

If it was a new car you bought I believe that the dealer fill the information out on the internet.

Funny you should say that coz when i bought mine second hand (L&K) i had some right trouble(with insurance), because that was down as an ambiente, even though they had got the rest right (engine size etc).....

in fact that reminds me i need to get in touch to sort it out

Mines down as a Octavia RS, but when it was 1st registered the v5 came back with ambiente tdi as the description. My dealer sent it back to the dvla and I had a nice new revised one in about 7 days.

Its only the UK market where the models is marketed as a vRS, Skoda Auto in Cz manufacture it as an RS, as brochures for CZ and other countries show. Jus a quick fix in the UK to keep FORD from throwing there toys out of the pram. Skoda have made other RS models in previous times before the Octavia.

Initial Octavia RS's where marketed and briochured as RS in the UK until the UK FORD theat.

Mine was down as a TDI as well :D

RS is fine for the V5

Mine was registered as an ambiente TDI (like manny's), but this was still the case after 1.5 years! Had it changed, and now says RS.

dvla are a nightmare at times, when i registered my focus i never recieved my v5, o wned the car for nearly a year. i sent multiple forms off and never recieved the document. called em lots of times and they knew who i was and said that they had recieved every one of my forms and sent a v5 out every time and they had all my details correct. god only knows where the v5's went

Out of interest Jon, what did the dvla say for your new taxi? Is it "SDI" or have they incorrectly labelled it "TDI" ? ;)

mine was also a tdi on the original logbook of the first RS that i owned, but correct on the second.

both times it was listed as RS though.

I was pulled by Eurotunnel security when I had the Vrs, as it was down as a TDi Ambiente on their computer (they have number plate recognition, which ties into the registration database) our fleet administrator hadn't even noticed! The DVLA blamed Skoda, saying that they hadn't been informed that there was a Vrs model, so they couldn't register it as such. It was easily changed, though.

Ah. Strangely my (very early) vRS was down on the V5 as a 1.8 SLX. Fixed now though.

never had any trouble with mine, came through as an RS on a very creased V5 form.

only trouble i had was a dislexic insurance broker putting YKY not YRY.

never mind, got it sorted.

My wifes 1999 1.6LX Octavia always comes up as an LXi on insurance websites that derive the vehicle details from reg number. This is strange as the badge on the car says LX, the old green log book had LX (yet to get the new style paper one).

model naming conventions always cause a headache on V5's.

But even more problematic are the colour descriptions.......

Give the Laurence Lowylylenen-Bowen pretences of some car companys (Skoda incl.) the colour you buy might not match with the V5...

I have a "granite" octy. to the human eye, it's a metallic mid-blue. To the DVLA, it's "Grey".

Go figure........

I bet that was cheaper on the insurance

A year or so later I actually got an amazing quote from Axa, a good 250 quid cheaper than the next nearest. Until I noticed on the summary that the insured vehicle was a 1.8 SLX (coming from the registration number).

My heart sank at that.
