S/S exhaust

Featured Replies

I'm with swift cover and just realised that a ss exhaust does not class as a modification on my policy, BUT no performance modifications are allowed.

On the basis that preformance gains are minimal for a ss over standard exhaust i can not see any problems, however would you say this was a cop-out for the insurance company or the fact they do see some common sense in installing a long life exhaust?

I would ring them and check. As you've said NO performance modifications allowed, the exhaust will be classified as a modification.

It states "what we don't need to know about"

alloys under £1000

sound systems under £1000

stainless steel exhausts..

etc

etc

That's strange, if you put a SS exhaust on say a Subaru, it would gain 25-30 BHP.

I suppose for a Furby it does not gain any significant power increase.

I'd double check and ask for their answer in writing just incase anything goes wrong. You'd only need to worry if you had a corsa though- an exhaust can make them gain power increases of 20hp on the 1.2 8v!!! Well do some of my customers brag anyway...lol
