Would this fit the skoda????

Featured Replies

You've already suffered one of these ropey far east knock offs once. I don't get why you want to go through it again? Especially when it's as much as an RNS510!

I literally LOL'd :)

HA HA , these units come with everything I need in one box, the MFD3 does not, I was only asking if this unit would fit the skoda as it looks about the same shape, he has also some skoda ones in his shop

Back might fit, front looks like it won't and you won't be able to get a surround to make it fit.

Wiring I would say quite possibly not due to comments about the OEM stalk.

Another issue is that it's going to be bright red.

At that price why not just get the genuine article?

Thats way overpriced. Its basically the same Witson far eastern rip off unit thats been on here in the past with a different case around it. The innards are exactly the same. Wiring on these units is standard ISO, so with an adapter the wiring will work but the facia is completely wrong. The quality of the audio components is poor, notice no mention of RMS on the power output, so that will be 4x4W RMS maybe, the software is best described as poor, and if previous versions are anything to go by the playback of MP3 and IPOD is VERY basic to say the least.

The MFD3 is a far better looking piece of kit, has software that works out of the box and fully integrates with the car. Get the MFD3 and add on the bits you want, its not expensive to do. It will cost more than that unit, but as they say you get what you pay for.

You seem intent on throwing money at it, so knock yourself out.

Gorgeous UI desgin though, a real touch of class. Is it possible to skin the Columbus to get it to look more like this...

you seem to have made up your mind, so why are you asking?

don't throw good money after bad, but the genuine article, do not accept forgerys.

There are several on ebay from the guy in Lithuania, but they are out of my price range and there all for VW so the colour would be wrong

So don't waste money on this cr*p, and instead save up until you can afford the correct item?

I'm absolutely lost for words, and seem to be suffering from an exceedingly bad case of deja vu.

I'm not even going to mention the MFD3, as you are clearly intent on not buying one.

Now what's that conundrum............

Q. how many Briskoda members does it take to convince someone to buy an MFD3 ?

A. obviously more than have responded to this thread

Oh s@d it, I said I wasn't going to mention the MFD3.

Buy an MDF3!

/falls off chair.

Not sure why you didn't make an offer on the newer, Skoda branded one that the same seller has listed for the same asking price?

SKODA Navigation RNS-510 MFD3 HDD DVD RNS510 RNS 510 on eBay (end time 02-Aug-09 10:00:10 BST)

Or indeed the grielka one that brymar posted above.

It was not there or I did not notice it, It was not listed under skoda mfd3

It wont have speed cameras on the map being DVD unless they can be added somehow

You shouldn't need speed camera warnings anyway, if you're not speeding.

Sorry - I forgot - you're a taxi driver

Yes to both, yes I'm a taxi owner driver, and yes because I can take fares to anywhere in the UK and its nice not to get caught out in areas I don't know, even though I don't speed:rolleyes:

Then get a road angel to compliment your MDF3 ;)
