My new FL vRS CR tdi

Featured Replies

I think this VAT free pricing has made my mind up for me..and more importantly that of my wife

she fancies a new car in september..so it looks like a replacement petrol vrs in red with leather, Mdi, maxi dot and rear parking sensors..will prices differ between dealers as Benfield and Silbury are both close to me..get a quote of one (including px for my mk2 vrs) then go and see the other dealer?

I'm not sure what margins they will have with this VAT free offer? or is the market bad enough for them to want to make a deal on a new plate car come september?

I think it would be well worth checking out drivethedeal and go to either dealer armed with there price. See if they will match it, they will probably only give book price for your car but would still be a good deal. Had a quick look and unfortunatly DTD dont list leather as an option but without the price would be £15,317.00 with the other options listed, which is an absolute bargain IMHO. You can always use webuyanycar.com to see what sort of price your likely to get for yours.

One thing I've noticed in the options list is that you can only have the Multifunction Steering Wheel on the DSG version, it's not available on the manuals, unless the wording is a little ambiguous.

This is listed in standard equipment.

‘vRS’ 3 spoke leather sports steering wheel

(multi-function controls for radio and paddle

shift - DSG only)

This is listed in options.

Bluetooth® and telephone function for

multi-function steering wheel and Maxi-dot (DSG only)

Surely if it's available for manuals then it should read:

‘vRS’ 3 spoke leather sports steering wheel

multi-function controls for radio (and paddle

shift for DSG only)

It's not available for the manuals :thumbdwn:

Car is gorgeous! Hope the company lets me have one...

I asked about the multi function wheel too, apparently it should read as suggested above re paddles. The way I read it was that only DSG cars could have Bluetooth... Why should the gearbox make a difference to the steering wheel and phone prep, same wheel less the paddles surely.

Can somebody please explain to me what maxi dot is please, I thought the car had an on board computer (MFD) anyway? Dealer wasn't sure!!!!

Thanks.

Maxidot = enhanced dashboard display which allows you to alter certain settings on the car, and has a larger centre screen than standard

MFD = standard multi-function display which will show either average mpg, current mpg, elapsed journey time or temperature on pressing the right hand stalk button

I see, thanks for that. If you have the bluetooth option, does this automatically include maxidot? My Altea has got bluetooth & I can change various setting on that too - perhaps its the same thing? Just hope I'm allowed a VRS as my next company car in January....

Really love the Neptune Alloys.

Just seen a silver FL vRS in the flesh at my local dealers.

Looked good apart from the comedy high suspension - looked liked the chocs had been left in but they hadn't.

Seemingly the new octavia is due out next year which has just removed any thoughts I did have of swapping!

really? I thought the facelift was in to prolong the platform life..the mk1 had a life of over 7 years or something

any dealers on here throw some light on this?

I just been to benfield (to price up a new plate model) in newcastle and they dont even have a facelfit vRS yet

Really that was what I was told

I would recommend Silbury Skoda just off the A19 at Cramlington. Speak to Justin. I got my first vRS from Benfield but wasn't impressed by their after sales and service dept.

Silbury are really good. Would recommend them. Just been there today and had a look at the silver FL model, looks good, shame i still have time to go on my latest car :(

Oh, and the white FL looks amazing, even better with tinted windows and black powdered wheels.

you have a very nice car. :)

Front end seems to have gone a bit like this to me :-

Only my view though, obviously nobody else's :o

I agree with you there ;-) I prefer the more sinister looks of the preFL model to the FL....don't know, I somehow think the Octavia's got more character before the FL.

Anyway:

@themeopener

The white vRS is a fantastic car, hope you have lots of fun with it. And I also don't think it has to be lowered.

Cheers from Germany...

I like the honeycomb GTi look lower grill and wider look fog lights of the FL but prefer the headlights on the pre FL

Firstly guys and gals, Thanks for not being too critical of my new lady,

your input has been a great read and has had me thinking alot too.

Has anyone noticed that the new wheels are I think Identical to the wheels which you can get on the VW EOS?

2006-Volkswagen-Eos-S-Sun-1920x1440.jpg

I disagree, i got those same wheels on my passat

kerbed them slightly in falmouth and because there diamond cut i doubt im doing to be able to get them re-furbed :(

I agree the wheels look similar but are not the same. The ones on the EOS look a bit more bling.

So glad I've seen that. I'm ordering mine next week and was wavering on the Candy White (the wife doesn't like it), but now I'm def having it

Yup, the FL will see the Mk2 until 2012ish.

she looks amazing in candy White, i m from india & over here we dont have the facelifted vrs yet, i just booked a black 1.8 tsi instead, over here the FL octavia are already on the rds since a month, howcome i dont see much people owning a fl octavia here

anyways its nice to be a part of this forms:cool:

cheers..

thought as much

I think I am going to order one this week should be an october delivery (hopefully earlier)

going to go for a petrol vRS in red (our mk1 was red and my wife loved it, I chose black last time and now its her turn, so its back to red!) and thanks to their deals at the moment I can pick full leather, maxi dot, rear parking sensors and the mdi and not feel guilty about ticking them!

anybody know if I will need to order the apple connector for the mdi at the same time from the dealer or can I get that at delivery time?

I'd try and get that thrown in for free as well as a touch up paint stick!

Steve

what about mats? are they supplied as standard on the vrs this time around..my mk2 was used so they were already fitted

Mats were standard on my MkII. If they are not standard, ask for them as well!

Steve

took the plunge and ordered my very first brand new car, always had used before.

as posted above..red Vrs
