Scratches in paintwork

Featured Replies

Posted this down here as its about my other car - a Mondeo (although theres a couple of scratches on the Fabia so kind of applies to that too!)

When I first viewed my Mondeo at the dealer it was in an 'unprepared' state. It had a fair few scuffs and all down the passenger side, it had a load of horizontal scratches.

All these were to be fixed prior to sale by their Ford bodyshop. They've done a pretty good job on all the scuffs and bar one or two, I couldn't see any of the scratches remaining along the side (they had mopped the paint). The car had also been treated with a Supaguard like product.

Problem is that the scratches along the side are now starting to become visible again (after 4 weeks). Are there any products I can use that will get rid of them?

Are there any problems using these products? I assume that the supaguard will be removed by them?

Or would I be better off (but financially worse off) to get one of these mobile scratch and dent removal companies to take a look at it?

Basically all hairline scratches - looks like someone drove down a single track road a bit too close to a hedge.

Thanks for your help!

Try browsing this site mate - there's plenty of tips and stuff on how to get scratches etc out of paint.

A world for detailers...

A little difficult to say without seeing it in the metal or some pics but I'm sure if it's the result of a hedge or 2 someone like Simon (Baker21), Myself or anyone else with a machine polisher can sort them out for you:thumbup:
