No one watching qualifying?

Like hitting a stone or bird on the motorway except 3 times as fast and having no windscreen for it to bounce off

Ouch :( Looks like he was very lucky

It appears to be that piece of Rubens rear suspension that came adrift. Massa did well to use the brakes.

And then no timing screens. What a farce.

Will Massa be racing?

And why was the piece of suspension still bouncing down the road?

Massa is not racing. has a skull fracture.

Just read it as hadnt seen anything since quali.

Hopefully he's OK.

Massa has had an op to repair 2 fractures to the skull, the hospital are quoted as saying they were life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile back to the race, Alonso is only fueled to lap 13 where as most of the top ten will go 18 - 20 laps. Lewis with the KERS button might do well. Jenson is fueled to lap 25.

It's usually a pretty dull race as it's difficult to overtake.

There is Moto GP on afterwards... that should be more exciting

Seriously though, do hope Massa pulls through ok especially after the similar accident in F2 which claimed the life of Henry Surtees....

spooky that two similar accidents should happen so close together, hope Massa is ok

Hope Massa speedy recovery. But I have a feeling that he might not able to return this season, specially now in season test is banned. I hope I am wrong.

Still can't understand how the debris that hit him was still bouncing along the road the car it so say came off of was long gone before Massa got there

It's possible that another car ran over the piece and the rear wheels 'flicked' it up into the air. I'm sure the FIA will carry out a full investigation into the crash.

Did anyone spot Jenson's gaff, when he was talking to Alonso in park ferme? Because the timing screens were down the drivers knew their own times, but not the other drivers times. Alonso asked Jenson, who said 1.20.8, Alonso said I did 1.20.5, Jenson replied 'f**king hell!' Martin Brundle promptly apoligised on Jenson behalf.

Just seen it on the news...it was a spring off of the other car so that is why it was still bouncing

Moving on........

the race is a bit tedious - why can't they show a bit more of Nicola Schitsinger ?

Looking forward to Moto GP

not seen anything come off a car in an ages, then Alonso's wheel comes off, they say things happen in 3's. hopefully massa will be ok.

Hope the Brawn bubble isn't about to burst, :(

4 weeks till the next race:( looks like i'll have some jobs lined up for me know on a sunday

What was really annoying was the camera operators....looks like they got bored occasionally and filmed a random somebody in the pitlane or a girlfriend...hello...there's a race on.

Funniest bit was when the camera panned in on Anthony Hamilton and Nicola Schitsinger - he was full of it that he was on camera and started pointing to it - she wasn't interested - good for her - shame on him :thumbdwn:

Now, if only she'd dress like this for a Grand Prix

Oops - they've spelt her name wrong !

Just been anounced that Renault have been suspended for one race due to Alonso's tyre coming off.
