picked up my facelift vrs on saturday it was raining which is typical.

noticed on monday that paint is faulty on rear drivers side door, looks like coulour wasn't done correctly before lacquer was applied. going back to dealer on friday for them to look at.

car also suffers from gear stick rattle at tickover, don't know if i should get dealer to check out.

Just check- it may not be gear stick rattle - the fabias are renowned for the passenger seat belt buckle knocking against the centre console. A felt pad or such like may stop it.

Several people (including me) have experienced gear stick rattle when new. But (trust me) it quickly disappears within a few hundred miles use.

Gearstick rattle is common on tick over. My car has done 4K now as still does it but only when it's cold, once it warms up it is fine.

I think I have the EXACT same paint blemish as you on the rear drivers side door, its like a darker area in the shape you'd expect a birth mark and is quite clearly under the paint and wont budge!!! Its in a few places surrounding the area too.

My dealer said that Skoda would inspect and most likely want to respray the door, i decided I'd rather put up with the mark (which to be honest is only visible if you look at it in the right light and know its there).

Would be funny if it turned out that he nossles get blocked or a pipe gets restricted when the painting arm is at a certain angle and its a common defect but if yours is the same as mine then this could be interesting!

Facelift 54 Fab vRS, gear stick rattle in neutral since day one, have covered 650 miles and now as quiet as a mouse.......enjoy :revs:

Somebody a friend knows was complaining of a blemish on their silver Fabia too, not a vRS but silver nonetheless... hmm.

went to dealer's body shop who said will contact skoda to authorize respray of door.

So your dealer will be respraying the door? They offered me that but i'm not sure if it will be an exact match, especially in 3 years time when I come to sell the car. Let me know how it looks when its done.
