Fabia Central Locking Problem

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm new to this forum so appologies if I posted this in the wrong place.

I have been bought a Fabia (2000 W Reg) as my old car was on it's way out! I can honestly say I am very impressed with it, very good quality all round, drives great and engine works a charm.

However i've come to discover a problem with the central locking, It's pretty tempremental, for example:

When the passenger side door is closed with moderate force from the outside, the other 3 doors will lock, passenger door remaining unlocked. When I push the lock button on the drivers door inside, all the doors will lock apart from the passenger door, then a few seconds later they will all unlock (i'm assuming because the passenger door one didn't go down) then after a few lock/unlocks they will all go down.

Also when I drive the doors lock when I pull away (which I assume is meant to happen) then a few moments later they will unlock and re-lock and continue doing so at various intervals while i'm driving.

Recently in the mornings the central locking won't work at all when I use the key to unlock the drivers door, it will meerly unlock the drivers door and the rest will remain locked.

I should mention when I lock the car from the drivers door using the key, all the doors lock no problem.

Help would be appreciated as to how to fix this. Thanks!

Central locking control module, inside drivers door, either water ingress or dry solder joints on edge connector.

Thanks for the information guys! I'll try this tomorrow. One more question, as with the fuse can you tell me where the fuse is for the central locking? I was told it was the top left fuse in the panel. I need to get myself a haynes book to locate various fuses!

Not sure if there should have been a legend above the fuse box but there's just an empty gap.

Thanks in advance
