New Clutch and Flywheel needed for

Featured Replies

My standard clutch and flywheel have finally had enough of pushing 185bhp, they lasted over 20k at this level, however the combination of slipping and flywheel vibration plus the racket it is now making is a bit much to put up with :)

Does anyone know of anywhere that can fit something of a sach level and a single mass flywheel for £1k? Are there any alternatives to the sach kit? I have had a look but there doesn't seem to be a lot around and my budget is limited, i am having to borrow the £1k.

Any thoughts or recommendations welcome, except for the 'just don't drive too hard' recommendation as i have tried that one :)

Where do you live chap?

If your in Wiltshire, PM me.

Dave

i got a member on here to supply mine, i only had the clutch but the flywheel was another £200, would of been abot £800 if i had both :)

What you running to push 185bhp?

I have a used but good DMF if you want it? £80 delivered - i upgraded to a Sachs kit with the SMF from jabbasport as i'm aiming for big BHP further down the road!

right my opinion here

if your staying at the remapped power with oem turbo / intercooler and plan no further mods just get a sach with an oem dmf!!

BUT if you plan on bigger turbo / intercooler and 200bhp+ go the single mass option... i ran the Helix which was from mardigrasmotosport.co.uk!! £830 for clutch and fly

Basically, if your changing both, it will cost you close to a grand whatever make you go for. So buy the bits, grab yourself the haynes manual and do the work yourself.

Thats the only way of keeping the costs down as far as i can see.

Cheers for the replys guys. Am going for a sach DMF and Clutch, i am running a custom mapped tuning box from Chip Express plus a stainless induction cone / sealed heatshield and 1.7 bar boost.

I do loads of miles with work and SWMBO didnt like the sound of the SMF option so a DMF it is :)
