Sorted it.... went looking at 3.00 pm around the neighbouring streets, and there it was parked up on Lady Lane (3 streets away from where it was allegedly stolen from), locked and secure, with no damage.

Phoned your grandad, and gave him the good news, and suggested that he may have just "misplaced" it, but he was adamant that he had parked on George Street, but he was nevertheless very grateful, and said he would make arrangements to come and get it.

Phoned him back at 10.00 pm to make sure he had collected it and got home ok, and he then admitted that he had obviously had "a senior moment" when he parked it, and had then gone back to the wrong street !! Doh !!!!

Never mind...all's well that ends well :thumbup:.

I couldn't help but chuckle when I read that.

Good result!

I hope that some people on here apologise for their remarks about the good people of Leeds.

Or about the police

I don't think anybody on here has made any remarks about the good people of Leeds. About the scummy scratters maybe, but not about the gen pop.

Nice one Philip btw!

Tell him to get a bright orange car!

Or even better

Whuhey! Excellent news albeit a tad embarrasing for him I suspect. ;)

I 'lost' a car in a multi storey in Windsor 8 years ago. Found it after 1 hour of frantic searching with the help of security. Most most embarrasing.:o

Sorry but I couldnt help but chuckle at this thread, post number 2 said straight away what had happened. Fair play to Phillip for taking the time out to sort it out, well done mate!

wouldnt matter if he had a bright orange car he was looking for it in the wrong place haha, was thinking that street is way too busy to have a car lifted without a witness. must applaud the effort from our boy in blue!! good work mate!

Yep, well done Phillip. When it was reported it probably just went on a database somewhere, due to Briskoda it was actually found!

I aim to please !!!

Well done Phillip. Obviously the old ways are still the best!

Fair play, what a result.

Well done Ben for posting it on here and excellent work Phillip to be so vigilant. Does your grandad still want to change for an Octavia tho? Obviously without Porche brakes!

Tee hee hee

Massive thanks to Phillip, I took him up to fetch it on Thursday evening.

He was adamant that he'd parked it opposite the chip shop. He does feel pretty embarrassed and wonders if he's finally started to lose his marbles.. I told him it's something we've all done and lets be honest, most of us have.

Cheers again

No worries mate...just doing my job :):).

It's a shame he had to fork out for his house locks changing though - that won't have been cheap :(:(.

Nice to see a happy ending.

Well done Phillip, Mr Peel would be proud of you.

good to hear that all is OK, there was no way that anyone would steal it though, seriously.

As well as being god to all indie fans like myself, I'm sure John would have been pleased to hear about a reunited Rover too.

I thought you'd appreciate that one :D

Great result!

I did laugh when I read that too; hopefully he's seen the funny side as well :D
