R5 OCTY number plate

Featured Replies

hi there guys iv just bought a octavia vrs with the number plate R5 OCTY

was just wonderin how much the plate is worth

where culd i find out from

or wot sort ov offers do u think i wuld get

thanks Dave

With the correct spacing R50 CTY worth very little and as its now illegal to supply plates with dodgy spacing very little again. Simillar plates including the transfer fee of £80 are selling on the DVLA site for £245, eg. K50 CTY.

You could try asking newreg or simillar, but most likely somewhere around £200. Keep in mind it will cost you at least £80 for another reg for your car its not worth the hassle.

If you intend to sell the plate on this forum, or it that is your intention from this post then this post will be deleted unless you join freedom.

What Manny said :)

Depends what you rate your chances of finding someone with a connection or like of the number 50, with the initials CTY really :)

Steve

how rude are those 2 - Welcome to Briskoda

however what the 2 above say stands - the plate is only worth as much as someone will pay for it and as its illegal to space it to say 0CTY that may not be a lot and if your advertising it here you'll need to join Freedom and see if there are any takers

Not our fault he put the question in the wrong part of the forum :P

But yes - a very warm welcome to the forum, with or without your dodgy numberplate  ;)

Just cause it's illegal to misspace numberplates it doesn't mean that people don't do it , or that they won't pay for a plate that means more when it is misspaced.

Even the DVLA charge more for plates that would be more interesting when misspaced , despite their warnings about spacings so this would fetch more than the one you mentioned because skoda don't sell an Octavia VKS

couldnt agree more. for example, J17 CKO is bound to be worth more than J88 CKO as the DVLA know full well someone will try and put it as J17CK O even if it is illeagal.

You are always going to find noobs (extra 'o' added deliberately) who are prepared to drive round with illegally spaced number plates.

It p*sses me off personally, but that's just the way of the world - you will always find people who think they are above the law.

"But it's only a number plate", they'll say - "why don't the police use their time catching real criminals ?", they'll say.

"Tough ****", I say - don't break the law.

Rant over.

Welcome to Briskoda, by the way

Well said.... Couldn't agree more.

Case in point....Kev Glover from Jabbasport

If all you are talking about is a different space and it's still legible in the correct font then I really can't get that bothered by it. It doesn't make them harder to read by human or anpr. Illegible stupid fonts or extra screw covers are a different matter.

Welcome to the site :)
