engine/turbo missing ????

Featured Replies

Hi !!!!

Ive just bought an octavia VRS on a 54 plate a week ago, there is a splutter bettween 1000rpm and 3000rpm as you are putting your foot down(basiclay feels like its missfireing? mainly in gears 2,3 and 4.But then the car takes off like a rocket after 3000rpm and is very fast !!! ive just had a full service including cam belt change done at the skoda dealers thinking it would sort it out but i still have this splutter/missfire between 1000rpm and 3000rpm .

is this normal or can someone help me please and tell me what the problem is...

Cheers !!!! Lee

Hello and welcome Lee :D

That aint normal but if you post your question on the forum for your vrs i'm sure somebody will be able to help. Good luck

Welcome. Hope you get it sorted.

Hi, you probably want to visit the VAG-COM forum too. Welcome!

could be a number of things but the most likely is simple a very dirty throttle body give it a good clean..

also maybe coilpacks on there way out....

welcome to the forum

try cleaning the throttle body first:thumbup:

Hi !!!

cleaned my throttle body out today but car is still spluttering at 3000rpm ???? dealer said the other week that the coil packs would of been picked up in the service if they were faulty ??? not sure what to try next.Think i might just live with it...

Anybody got any other idears ???

CHEERS !!!!!! LEE

I have a similar problem, but at lower revs.

Cleaned my TB today, but tbh it was remarkably clean anyway (the car has only done 42k)

I'm thinking coil packs or the wiring to the coil packs... (have you tried checking the wiring yet?)

iirc you lift the small cover off the battery and disconnect the big wires one at a time with the engine on tickover - if there's a problem the engine note will change noticeably on the coilpack/wiring where the fault is..

Be interested to know how you get on...:D

What have you found? I have this problem. Going to try cleaning Tb first, then coilpacks.

Hi there !!!!

Its been a while but my car is finaly sorted after trying many things, problem turned out to be a split hose....the hose was sittuated right behind the manifold and was very awkward to get to apperently.the hose was quite small, approx 200mm in length and approx 10mm diameter.

YOU COULD ONLY TELL THE HOSE WAS SPLIT WHEN IT WAS OFF AND IN YOUR HAND AND YOU BENT IT,IT LOOKED PERFECTLY NORMAL OTHERWISE !!!!

The car is running as sweet as a nut now and its thanks to the garage i put it in called Vee-dubs located in Bill quay ,tyne & wear in the north east and only cost me £30

HAPPY DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome
