Electric Windows Switch - After market

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1.4 Classic (2000), it has electrics windows fitted, but these are 'after market' or so I've been told and 1 of the switches it defunkt. Only problem is I've been told standard Fabia electric windows swtiches are fitted in the door. Both mine are on the central consule switch unit by the radio. Any ideas where I can source a spare?

Thanks

Tim

Try seeing if you can get the ones from the 'sport' as I believe that these were fitted post manufacture.

Borrwed this from another thread (thanks to phillipssg), but thats what the sport switches look like - is that the same as yours?

Thanks for that. Do you know exactly what model (Fabia 1 or 2) it is, or is it just a Fabia Sport? Also do you think I'll be able to get these from a main dealer?

Hi Tim,

Not sure on the size but would these be any good ?

VWP - rocker switches

At a guess its not engine specific as they were fitted after it was made or by the dealer. I think the Sport was a 1.4 though, but ask at the dealers, should be able to help if that is the same as yours.

Could be water ingres into the convienience ECU, or a sticky button on your remote keyfob.

If one of the switches doesn't work (and if your windows are the same as mine) then take the window switch panel out from the centre console (I used a the end of a chisel lol, only because I didn't have a flat headed screw driver on me) then check the connections into the switch as it may just be a loose connection, that's the first thing I checked when my windows buggered up.
