Falken 452's

Featured Replies

Fitted Falken 452's - 205/40/17- almost two years ago and after 14k miles they're down to 1.5mil above the wear indicator. I swapped front to back after 12 months. Wear is pretty even over the tread with slightly more on the outsides, though. Will replace all 4 in the next month or so. This time I'm going for the 215 width.

I have no hesitation in recommending the 452's for overall excellent performance, wet or dry. Worth a special mention: they are superb on comfort even on 17's and lowered 25mm on Eibachs.

Yep, I agree the 452s punch well above their weight for the price. They are a high performance tyre, but the big negative to that is they are very soft and don't last too long. You must have light feet to get 14k out of a pair ;)

I have them on the front of the Octy at the moment, and find them 'OK'. Not that communicative though?

I'll be looking elsewhere come renewal time. Horses for courses I suppose, as ever :)

They're good, don't get me wrong - I just think I prefer what others offer.

Cheers,

Steve

I've just bought a pair of vredestein ultrac sessanta's for my Octy. Its the first time i've ever strayed from my normal mould of Goodyear, Bridgestone, Toyo's or Conti Sports. Hopefully I wont be disappointed. Anyone else tried these tyres?

Remember this is the Fabia section and the vRS only has 16 inch wheels as standard. The problem with Ultrac Sessanta's or the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics are they only start at 17 inches, none smaller than that. :thumbdwn:

Hi Steve,

It's some time since I posted. Too busy in retirement - honestly!

Your Octy -BEAUTIFUL. Didn't expect less, though.

Don't have much issue with tram lining and that might have something to do with your "communicative" comment.

In the final analysis it's to do with personal preference, fitness for purpose and last, but by no means least, in the Forum World, image. Re- the latter, the 452's might not be the choice with the young bucks but for oldies like me they tick most of the boxes.

Keep well,

Regards,

Bill

I'm on my 2nd front pair of Falken 912's - the first pair only lasted 8000 miles before they were on the wear bars on the outer edges!

Not quite as good as Toyo T1R's that i'm use to, but still good in the dry - not so good in the wet!

I know this has prob been covered before but are 205/40s ok for the fabia on 17s

I have just got some 17s for my car fitted with these and wondered if they Ok

Rim width is 7J

Thanks for the info on the Falkens I have been looking at these tyres :)

Yep. No problem there. 205/40 on 17" also keeps the speedo spot-on.

When I change, I'm going to fit 215/40 to give even more comfort - wider side wall. Speedo will be out a wee bit but not an issue.
